(CAVE JUNCTION, Ore.) - Cave Junction The risk of wildfire is increasing across southwestern Oregon, due largely to the ongoing, persistent drought conditions, a lack of snowpack, and the unseasonably dry state of fuels such as grasses and small woody debris.

Effective 12:01 a.m. on July 1, 2015, There are NO campfires allowed in the Monument or Preserve.

Oregon Legislature Votes to Ban the Box on Job Applications

HB 3025 will help remove barriers to employment for people with past convictions and arrests

(SALEM, Ore.) - ban the box campaign The Oregon Senate today passed HB 3025 by a vote of 21 to 8. The legislation will prohibit employers from including questions about applicants’ criminal history on job applications. HB 3025 now heads to the House for a concurrent vote and then to Governor Kate Brown for her signature.

"As Oregonians, we believe that anyone who makes a mistake and learns from it deserves a second chance," said Tom Chamberlain, President of Oregon AFL-CIO and member of Fair Chance For All.

Crohn`s Disease Patient Shona Banda Speaks Out As Charges Loom

Shona's plight has drawn the attention of The Washington Post and a wide range of mainstream media outlets including ABC’s The View.

(GARDEN CITY, KS) - Shona Banda A press conference has been scheduled for June 15th regarding the case against Crohn’s disease patient Shona Banda. Five criminal charges are in the process of being filed against Banda as a result of the well publicized raid by Garden City Police in April.

OSP Continuing Death Investigation At Mongold State Park

A large portion of the park was closed during the investigation.

(MARION COUNTY, Ore.) - death investigation OSP Troopers and Detectives responded to Mongold State Park in eastern Marion County for a death investigation on Tuesday about 11:06 a.m.

According to OSP Criminal Investigations Sergeant Gregg Withers, a male identified as 62-year old Richard L Posekany JR, of Detroit, was found unconscious and unresponsive in a picnic area near the Mongold boat ramp. Medics responded and pronounced Mr. Posekany deceased.

Walery`s Pizza Shows Local Support Fundraising for NWHS

Northwest Human Services helps with Medical, Dental, Mental Health care and social services for those in need.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Walery`s Pizza There was a party going on in West Salem today, and it all had to do with the best pizza around. Hungry people always find their way to Walery's, but today was special. A portion of the proceeds at Walery's Pizza were donated to Northwest Human Services' Youth and Family program.

NWHS volunteers bused tables and delivered dessert to the very well-fed customers.
