State of Oregon Employees` Top $1 Million in Charitable Donations

The Military Department reported the largest percentage increase of all state agencies, 446 percent.

(SALEM) - The final tabulation shows state employees' charitable giving topped $1 million in the 2006 State of Oregon Employees' Charitable Fund Drive, the Oregon Department of Administrative Services announced Monday.

The total donations, which will go to nonprofit charitable groups around the state, exceeded the previous year's campaign by more than $41,000.

At this time, detectives are unable to confirm the sex or approximate age of the unidentified body.

(TILLAMOOK) - A multi-agency investigation led by Oregon State Police detectives is investigating the discovery of a partially decomposed body reported found Sunday afternoon in a remote, wooded area south of Highway 6 in the Browns Camp area.

Flames From Fire Visable From Oregon Highway 99-W

Firefighters have attempted to extinguish the flames, but are unable to do so until they bring in an excavator.

(TIGARD, Ore. ) - Fire investigation Tualatin Valley Firefighters are on the scene of a fire at a construction site where a debris pile from the demolition of an old building has caught fire.

It's producing flames about 20-feet in height which are visible from Highway 99-W about 400-feet away.

The location is at 11645 SW Pacific Highway in Tigard.

Habitual DUII Driver Cited Again After Sunday Crash

Oregon State Police cited the man for DUII Felony Habitual Offender (6 DUII convictions in less than 10 years).

(GRAND RONDE) - A Depoe Bay man received minor injuries and was cited by Oregon State Police to appear on multiple charges including felony DUII following a single vehicle crash Sunday afternoon along Highway 18 west of Grand Ronde.

The man who had six prior DUII convictions within the last ten years, allegedly left the scene and hid from police but was found about 30 minutes later.

Oregon Poultry Industry Announces Annual Youth Contest

The entry fee for the contest is $10.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Univerisity The Oregon Fryer Commission's ninth annual Youth Pen of Fryers Contest will be held on Saturday, June 9th, at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Rickreall.

Oregon youth under 20 years of age (as of June 9th) are eligible to participate in the statewide competition.

Contestants will be required to pick up their 15 Cornish cross chicks on April 21st, at the OSU campus in Corvallis.

Two Men Die in Head-on Crash on Hwy 26 in Oregon Coast Range

One eastbound vehicle swerved to the shoulder to avoid the pickup.

(TIMBER JUNCTION) - crash scene photo Two men died and a woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 26 about five miles west of Timber Junction.

The crash occurred as an Oregon State Police trooper was attempting to stop one of the vehicles before it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on with the other vehicle.

OSP says at approximately 5:11 PM, a citizen reported a driving complaint regarding a maroon Dodge pickup westbound on Highway 26 near Manning.

Salem Fire Department Respondes to Third Fire Saturday

The fire was determined to have started from an electrical short in the television.

(SALEM) - Third fire in Salem, Ore 3 10 07 Salem Fire Department responded to a third structure fire on Saturday. The first alarm units arrived at a one-story duplex at 4092 Weathers St NE at 4:19 PM.

Arriving firefighters reported that moderate smoke was showing from the front of the duplex and that a fire was in the living room area. During the search of the residence, which was determined not to be occupied, firefighters rescued a puppy and the puppy's mother from the fire.
