A public voice is an integral right we have as Americans and public access television is one way to awaken the talent within you to express yourself.

(SALEM) - Lela Taylor TELEVISION! Some hate it, some tolerate it, and some just love it. I happen to love it. I enjoy to be able to sit down when I want to relax and be entertained by the talk shows, the dramas, and, yes, the news.

I love the movies, some of the sitcoms, and being a sci-fi fan, I especially look forward to anything that reeks of Star Trek or the outer spaces beyond our earth. I also really look forward to some of the reality shows!

Yes, I love to read, too, in case any of you intellectuals are saying, “Why not just pick up a good book?”

75 KKK Brochures Recovered in South Salem

Residents all over South Salem called the strange brochures in to police.

(SALEM) - Kitty litter box art Pro Ku Klux Klan material started showing up in South Salem driveways early Wednesday morning around 1:30 AM. Salem Police Lt. John Hoffmeister says about 75 brochures were recovered by officers.

"It's the usual rhetoric; Christian white pride, strong religious overtones."

Ironically, the envelopes were weighted down with kitty litter, and startling similarities were noted with the materials often found in these surroundings.

Proof that racists often have a hard time thinking out of the box.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez Calls George W. Bush The Devil: White House Silent

Many say it marks one of the few times Bush has been the victim of his own medicine.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez The White House is not commenting today over Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's statement that U.S. President George "W" Bush is being a "devil" with imperialist ambitions.

"Yesterday, the president of the US, the gentleman who I refer to as 'the devil' came here, talking to the world as if he owns the world," Chavez said.

The speech by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was made at the U-N. Many comments Chavez made were considered "heated" by the Bush administration.

Human Remains Could be Those of Missing BYU Student Brooke Wilberger

However, the Lincoln City Sheriff’s office says the skull could be connected to one of the county’s 70 missing persons cases.

(LINCOLN CITY) - Brooke Wilberger Loggers working on Forest Service Road 1726 near Devils Lake just outside Lincoln City discovered a human skull Thursday.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Curtis Landers says investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the remains belong to Brooke Wilberger, However, and more importantly, the remains could be those of one of the county’s 70 missing persons cases.

“We don’t have a sex or age, we just don’t know who it is” Landers said.

Police Investigate Robbery and Assault in Keizer (UPDATE)

Salem Police identified the vehicle but it's driver gave chase and police terminated the pursuit for safety reasons, but not before gettign a positive I.D. They now know the license plate is YHZ 877, the car is is a white 1992 Chevrolet Lumina four door.

(KEIZER) - Police lights and graphics Police say a Keizer woman was the victim of a beating and robbery that happened Tuesday night. The victim, 34-year old Armanda Cabigas, reported the incident around 10:00 AM this morning.

She reported that as she walked in the 800 block of Chemawa Road NE, the three suspects exited their car and approached her. She was struck hard enough that she became unconscious.

Salem Man Busted in Vermont Saturday For Traveling 141 MPH

Police say Martin Gibbons of Salem couldn’t tell them why he was traveling so fast.

(SPRINGFIELD, Vermont) - Vermont I-91 A Salem man, with an apparent heavy lead foot, was caught and arrested this weekend for going 141 miles an hour on I-91 in Springfield, Vermont.

Vermont State Police spokesman Sergeant John Flannigan said Trooper Chris McCrillis was conducting speed enforcement on I-91 at 8:00 AM Saturday when he clocked a 2006 Hyundai Sonata traveling north at 141 miles an hour.

Trooper McCrillis was able to get the driver, 46-year-old Martin Gibbons of Salem pulled over safely.

Crews initially thought the trailer could have been used for meth production.

(SALEM) - HAZMAT Team suiting up Salem firefighters responded to an unusual call around 7:00 tonight; a travel trailer had overturned on the I-5 at milepost 248 this morning and was still causing a problem.

Salem Special Election Update: All 35 Annexations Measures Passing Easily

There will be 32 more city annexation measures on the various types of ballots sent to Salem residents for the upcoming November General election.

(SALEM) - Salem City Hall The ballots for Tuesday’s Special Salem Annexation election are continuing to be counted at the Marion County Elections Division.

Voters were being asked to approve 35 city council-initiated annexations throughout the city.
