Oregon Woman Arrested for Leaving Dog Inside Hot Car

A Marion County Sheriff's Deputy took the dog to his patrol car, turned up the air conditioning, and gave the dog some much needed water.

(SILVERTON, Ore. ) - Oregon Dog Hot Car A Beaverton woman was cited and released after leaving her dog locked in a vehicle while she went hiking at Silver Creek Falls State Park, east of Salem.

On Sunday, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies were called out to the park, and found the dog in the vehicle unresponsive and panting due to the 90 degree heat outside.

Illegal Marijuana Grow Operation in Willamette Valley Busted

(ALBANY, Ore. ) -  marijuana grow operation A man living in the United States illegally, has been arrested while he was tending to a large scale marijuana grow operation in rural Linn County.

Linn County Sheriff's Bruce Riley said detectives determined that the suspect was living in, and tending to the marijuana grow site, which caused damage to the surrounding land, and to the local streams by the cutting of small trees and brush, depositing trash, and littering the area with chemicals and irrigation tubing.

Salem, Oregon Gas Prices Holding Steady Despite Middle East Crisis

The national average for regular unleaded slipped one-and-a-half cents this week to $3.47.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Gas Prices Gas prices in Oregon are holding steady, or have ticked down a bit, despite the on going conflicts in oil producing countries, and declining domestic refinery production.

In the Salem-area, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded remained at $3.87. In Portland-Vancouver, the average price dropped one cent this past week to $3.90. In Eugene-Springfield the price held steady at $3.87, while Medford-Ashland the price dropped one penny to $3.98.

Oregon Prison Escapee, Accomplice Arrested Tuesday Night

Officials are not sure if Teixeira was in the exercise yard, or inside the prison at the time of the escape.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - 27-year-old Lacy Evans The inmate who walked away from a Salem, Oregon prison Saturday afternoon with the help of a female accomplice are now both behind bars.

Police arrested 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira, and his accomplice 27-year-old Lacy Evans, Tuesday evening just after 10:30 p.m. in Stayton.

One Dead, 23 Rescued after Footbridge Collapses

Rescuers worked for several hours to assist the stranded people across the river.

(MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST ) - Sandy River at Ramona Falls A thunderstorm with heavy rain led to a flash flood of the Sandy River at Ramona Falls Tuesday afternoon washed out a footbridge that claimed the life of one man, and left 23 others to be rescued.

When rescuers arrived at Ramona Falls, they found several people on the other side of the river and unable to cross due to the high water. There was no sign of the man who was on the bridge when it collapsed.

California Woman Leads Oregon Police on High Speed Chase

The attempt to elude ended when OSP troopers stopped her vehicle using a tactical vehicle intervention technique.

(CENTRAL POINT, Ore. ) - Oregon High Speed Chase Oregon State Police troopers arrested a 22-year old California woman Tuesday afternoon following her attempt to elude police northbound on Interstate 5 between Central Point and Sunny Valley.

At approximately 12:31 p.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch received a citizen's driving complaint of a recklessly driven passenger car northbound on Interstate 5 in the Medford area.

Manufacturing has been on a steady expansionary trend over the past four years.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon Job Numbers Oregon payroll employment was essentially unchanged in July. Seasonally adjusted nonfarm payroll employment added 200 jobs, following a revised loss of 3,000 in June.

Three major industries expanded substantially in July: manufacturing (+1,600 jobs), health care and social assistance (+1,300) and other services (+1,400).

Facebook Post Leads to Man`s Arrest for Killing Brothers Dog

This is the second animal abuse arrest the Linn County Sheriff's Office has made within the past week.

(SWEET HOME, Ore. ) - Animal Abuse Arrest A Sweet Home, Oregon man has been arrested for killing his own brothers dog.

27-year-old Brandon Clark was arrested after the Linn County Sheriff's Office Animal Control received reports last week about a Facebook post that a dog had to be put down by it's owner after it received injuries from it being thrown to the ground.

Police Need Help Identifying Body Found Near Ore. Highway 551

The deceased subject is described as an adult, Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s. The victim is about 5'3" tall and weighs about 180 lbs.

(AURORA, Ore. ) - Tattoo Death Investigation The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the homicide of an unidentified adult male, found in a field in the area of NE Arndt Rd and Hwy. 551 between Wilsonville and Aurora.

The Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy, and determined the unidentified male died from a gunshot wound.
