Guard Helicopter Crew From Salem Rescue Missing Man

(SALEM) - An Oregon Army National Guard helicopter crew found a man missing in the Banks area since Thursday and transported him to a hospital Friday morning for medical care.

The Guard launched a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter to aid the Washington County Sheriff's office in the search for the man who was believed to have suffered a stroke.

Driver in Fatal Crash Sought by Police

(MCMINNVILLE) - Yamhill County Sheriff`s deputies are on the lookout for a man suspected of fleeing the scene of a fatal crash that was discovered at 4:00 AM Friday morning.

A search is underway at this time for 18-year old Johnathon David Bogosian of Yamhill. He is alleged the to be the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Burglary Suspect Arrested in New Construction Area

Police says the suspect was awaiting sentencing for two similar crimes in Lincoln County.

(SALEM) - Salem Police Detectives made an arrest Thursday after receiving information on a man who may be involved in selling new home construction material. Police suspect that the materials were recently stolen for a home construction site in the Salem area.

Detectives say they followed up on the information and arrested 37-year old Shawn Lynn Jones of Salem, after allegations that Jones delivered the suspected stolen items to a business that deals in housing materials.

WOU Students Present Progress on Term-Long Community Service Projects

(MONMOUTH) - On Thursday, Western Oregon University students presented service learning projects they have completed during the past term with the organizations in the surrounding community.

The projects are part of the Program Planning, Methods and Evaluation class.

PGE Proposes 8.9 Percent Overall Rate Hike

(PORTLAND - AP) - Oregon's largest utility has petitioned state regulators for an overall rate increase of eight-point-nine percent.

The utility is citing rising power costs and a new natural gas-fired power plant.

But the size of the proposed increase drew immediate questions from some consumers. It would be the first significant jump in five years.

Political Signs Not Allowed on State Right-of-Way

(SALEM) - With primary elections approaching in May, campaign workers are reminded that signs may not be posted on state highway right-of-way. There also are restrictions for signs on private property that are visible from state highways.

Political signs placed on state highway right-of-way will be removed without notice. They are held at local ODOT district maintenance offices for 30 days.

Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-205 Involves Four Cars and Two Commercial Trucks

(TUALATIN) - Oregon State Police troopers report that four passenger vehicles and two commercial trucks were involved in a traffic crash early Friday afternoon that completely closed Interstate 205 southbound lanes near the Tualatin River.

Responding fire personnel say 3 people were transported for treatment and about 30 gallons of fuel spilled from a tank. All lanes reportedly reopened by 3:00 PM.
