North Salem High Student Matthew Tufts Tragically Drowns in Mill Creek

Matthew was located approximately 100 feet downstream from where he had gone into the water.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Mill Creek Salem Oregon Over 100 family and friends of North Salem High School student Matthew Tufts held a vigil Monday evening after the teen tragically drowned after jumping into Mill Creek Sunday evening.

As Salem-News.com was first to report the incident as rescue crews frantically searched for the 16-year-old into the early morning hours Monday.

Salem Man Seriously Injured in Crash Near Enchanted Forest Theme Park

No one else was injured in the crash according to Oregon State Police.

(TURNER, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Crash Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation into Monday afternoon's three-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in serious injury to one person along Enchanted Way SE near the entrance to the Enchanted Forest theme park in Turner, Ore.

Oregon State Police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings says a Mitsubishi turned left toward an entrance to an RV park when it pulled into the path of a northbound 1994 Toyota pickup.

Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Crash with Pizza Delivery Vehicle

Deputies quick actions may have just saved the motorcyclist's life.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Motorcycle Crash A motorcyclist collided with a pizza delivery vehicle Monday afternoon in NE Salem.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says deputies and firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after the accident at the intersection of Silverton Road near Lardon Road.

Salem Teen Killed in Crash Where Car Ended Up in Molalla River

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - Marina Toran of Salem The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office tells Salem-News.com that a Salem teen was one of the people killed in a traffic crash where the vehicle they were in went off the road, went down a steep 100 foot embankment and ended up in the Molalla River.

19-year-old Marina Toran of Salem was a passenger in the vehicle, and 19-year-old Alexandra Alexandrova Samoilov of Canby was the driver, who was also killed in the crash.

Albany Man Drowns in Willamette River Sunday Night

The victim had gone into the Willamette River at the Crystal Lake Boat Ramp on an inflatable inner tube.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Crystal Lake Boat Ramp On Sunday, at about 5:53 p.m., Benton County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a person who had gone underwater in the Willamette River and had did not return to the surface.

The Corvallis Fire Department boat also responded. At about 7:24 p.m., the body of 24-year-old Lee Roy Allen Dow, from Albany, Oregon, was recovered by divers from the Linn County Sheriff's Office and the Albany Fire Department.

Salem Police Recover Body of Teen from Mill Creek

(SALEM, Ore. ) - MILL CREEK Salem Oregon Salem Police have confirmed to Salem-News.com that they have recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy who drowned while swimming Sunday in Mill Creek in SE Salem.

Police have not said where the body was exactly found, or the identity of the victim. The boy was last seen jumping into the creek near the Lakeside Community Mobile Home Park, located at the 3200 block of Turner Rd. SE around 9:00 p.m. Police said the boy jumped into the water and never resurfaced. He was not wearing a life jacket.

As Salem-News.com was first to report Sunday night, Salem Police, Salem Firefighters, and a rescue dive team from the Newberg Fire Department spent the overnight hours searching Mill Creek in SE Salem for the teenage boy.
