Oregon Woman Pours Hot Grease on Sleeping Boyfriend

The victim was transported to a Portland hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Shiree Franklin The 4th of July holiday did not start well for one man, after his girlfriend poured hot grease all over him.

Portland police and medical units received a call around 2:45 a.m. to a residence in the 7000 block of Northeast 27th Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 54-year-old male victim suffering from significant burns to his face, chest and hands.

Police all over Oregon will be out in force again tonight looking for impaired drivers. Remember: When in doubt, get a ride!

(SALEM, Ore. ) - University of Oregon Fireworks Show So if you missed out on any of the great fireworks displays on the 4th of July, never fear. There are plenty of events for the whole family on Saturday before fireworks displays light up the Saturday night skies in the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Coast.

Salem-Keizer Volcanoes - Fireworks after the game tonight against the Hillsboro Hops.

The Volcanoes continue their Patriotic Tribute series with game two versus the Hillsboro Hops. Salem-Keizer will send righty Nick Gonzalez (0-2, 3.94) to the mound to face Hops right-hander (1-0, 0.60). Tickets are still available for Saturday's contest with the gates opening at 5:00 p.m. in advance of a 6:35 p.m. scheduled start.

In a paper published online ahead of publication in the journal Appetite, researchers found that how well young children can link different food items with specific brands as they are learning about food is an indicator that weight issues are brewing.

Police Investigating Shooting in NE Salem

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Broadway Shooting Salem-News.com was on the scene of a shooting incident that took place Friday afternoon in northeast Salem.

A 20-year-old male was taken to Salem Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg, and at least two people were detained by police.

They have been released and currently there are no outstanding suspect(s) at large at this time, Lt. Jim Anglemier said.

More Cougar Sightings in Portland; One Caught in Tree

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife says if you come across a cougar in your neighborhood, do not approach it.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Oregon Cougar Police in Portland along with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife responded Friday afternoon to multiple reports of a cougar in a tree in the neighborhood of Northeast 121st and Northeast Stanton Street.

Police have closed off the area as ODFW officials deal with the animal. Portland police say there were three other calls Friday about Cougar sightings if different parts of the city.

Man Held at Knifepoint During Robbery in Scio

The two males suspects fled the area in the dark green Honda Civic, last seen driving towards Jefferson on Densmore Road.

(SCIO, Ore. ) - robbery investigation The Linn County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating two men wanted in connection with a robbery in Scio, Oregon.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley says deputies received a call on July 2 from 21-year-old Nickolaus Thomas Blair of Scio, saying he had just been robbed at knife point after walking his dog along the banks of Thomas Creek.

Willamette Valley Firefighter Killed While Kite Surfing on Oregon Coast

The victim is identified as 49-year-old Wylie Dale Johnson Jr., from Dundee. According to TVFR, Johnson was a firefighter for 19 years with TVFR.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - North Lincoln Fire & Rescue #1 The Oregon State Police is investigating the death of a 49-year-old firefighter from the Willamette Valley in Lincoln City, Oregon.

Lincoln City Police and fire crews were dispatched Thursday afternoon, to the beach at Roads End State Park. The victim was apparently kite-surfing in the cool waters of the Pacific Ocean when the accident occurred.

(MT. ANGEL, Ore. . ) - Marion County Car Crash At 04:33 a.m. Friday, Marion County Fire District No. 1 Firefighters and Paramedics were dispatched to an injury vehicle crash on Rambler Drive NE, near Yew Tree Ln NE, west of Mt. Angel in rural Marion County.

A passerby in the area noticed gravel on the roadway as he was making his morning drive and stopped to investigate. The passerby discovered a vehicle that had just moments before had rolled off the roadway and down an embankment.

Aumsville Man Gets Lengthy Prison Term for Assaulting 6-Month-Old Boy

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Robert Pinsky A former Oregon National Guard Soldier from Aumsville will spend nearly nine years in prison for assaulting his ex-girlfriends 6-month-old son.

Robert Pinsky was convicted of first-degree assault in a Marion County Courtroom and Judge Vance Day sentenced Pinksy to 105 months in prison, and he is not able to receive any time off of his Measure 11 sentence.
