(PORTLAND, Ore.) - When the wrongful death malpractice claims at the Phoenix V.A. Hospital hit the news it was all about Phoenix...Phoenix...Phoenix with 40 dead veterans waiting for a diagnosis, not even medical care, which would have prolonged or saved their lives. The report includes information from about 175 VA Hospitals and found that almost all of them had dozens of inadequate care and wrongful deaths. All of this should NOT be happening!

The V.A. has paid out a high amount for their medical malpractice claims but it seems to feel that it is someone else's money. None of the malpractice doctors have paid out a cent which seems to be a gross and bad disincentive!

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate a vehicle and driver involved in Wednesday morning's serious injury hit-and-run crash along Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and ODOT responded to a reported three vehicle hit-and-run crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the 282 interchange at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 21st.

(DULUTH, MN) - For the first time in recent memory, the Duluth-area Vets for Peace Chapter 80 float has been banned from participating in Duluth’s Memorial Day parade.

The Northland Veterans Services Committee, which is the organizing committee that is planning this year’s Memorial Day parade has informed the local chapter of Vets for Peace that it will not be allowed to participate. The decision was recently announced over the phone to VFP Chapter 80 president Phil Anderson. The person on the phone simply said that the planning committee "didn't like us or our group”.

First Prison Beekeeping Program Starts at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility

This new program will keep inmates buzzing with intrigue.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - A group of honey bees arrived at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility late last month to take up residence in three hives that will be cared for by inmate workers as part of the first prison beekeeping program in Oregon.

The hives each contain one queen and up to 5,000 bees, which include drones and worker bees. Since all worker bees are female, it seems somehow appropriate that this brand new program should begin at Oregon's only women's prison.
