American Legion Returns to Roseburg to Hear Veterans` Health-Care Concerns

The follow-on meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 at American Legion Post 16 on 406 S.E. Oak St. in Roseburg.

(ROSEBURG, OR) - American flag and miiltary helmet The American Legion, the country’s largest organization of wartime veterans, will return to Roseburg on Feb. 11 to host a second town hall for veterans to discuss the quality of health care they are receiving at the city’s Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center.

Members of the Legion’s System Worth Saving Task Force last met with local veterans at a Jan. 9 town hall meeting.

Merkley Votes to Remove Military Retiree Cuts

Linn County Sheriff Office Busy with Weather Related Calls

Advice from the Linn County Sheriff to keep residents safe and alive.

(ALBANY) - Linn deputies in the snow Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports his deputies have been extremely busy over the last few days. Since the snow began to fall last Thursday, deputies responded to 210 weather related calls for service.

These calls included 53 injury & non-injury motor vehicle crashes, 63 motorist assist calls, 76 traffic hazards, and numerous welfare checks, abandoned vehicles, agency and person assists

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Sgt Bowe R. Bergdahl has been a POW since June 30, 2009. About two weeks ago I had called Lamar Advertising in York, PA and spoke with Thomas A. Loper, knowing that some other Lamar sales offices throughout the US have been generous enough to donate digital sign board space to help promote the fact that we have a live POW out their that most Americans don't know about.

Sgt Bowe R. Bergdahl has been a POW since June 30, 2009.
