Oregon`s First Case of Child with COVID-19 Linked PMIS

Experts say PMIS (pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome) is rare

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - sick chid Oregon Health Authority has learned of the state’s first case of pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome, a rare but emerging condition in children that is believed to be associated with COVID-19 infection.

The case is a girl who had confirmed COVID-19. She is being treated at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland.

Four More Deaths From COVID-19 in Oregon

The pandemic continues while most Oregonians stay unaffected.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 Four more deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in Oregon as of 8 a.m. today, as well as 55 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 4 new presumptive cases.

Today's numbers raise the state’s death toll to 134, according to the Oregon Health Authority.

Today, Oregon reported 61 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 11 new presumptive cases, and 0 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 Oregon In addition to increased testing, local public health officials are contact tracing, so people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection are asked to identify their close contacts during the time when they were most likely to be infectious. Those contacts are then interviewed and monitored for illness.

Any of those contacts who have symptoms of COVID-19 are "presumed" to have COVID19 infection themselves.
