Brady Center Urges Appeals Court to Dismiss Challenge to Hawaii Gun Laws

The Brady Center’s brief cites data showing that Hawaii’s strong gun laws have helped Hawaii achieve the lowest gun death rate in the nation.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Hawaii gun laws The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence filed a brief today in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit urging the court to dismiss a challenge to Hawaii’s strong gun laws restricting the carrying of loaded guns in public.

In April, a judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii dismissed the lawsuit that is now on appeal, finding that Hawaii’s gun laws restricting public gun carrying are consistent with the Second Amendment.

FBI Raids Homes of Seattle and Portland Occupy Activists

A US newspaper has revealed that the FBI has been raiding the houses of anti-Wall Street protesters in Oregon and Washington in what the agency describes an “ongoing violent crime investigation.”

(TEHRAN) - FBI agents The Oregonian newspaper reported that heavily-armed domestic terrorism units of the FBI have been raiding the homes of activists in Seattle and Olympia, Washington and Portland, Oregon over the last month.

The report said that at least six homes have been raided in the two states since July 10.
