West Salem Woman Found Dead In Yamhill Landfill

An autopsy was conducted in Clackamas this morning by Dr. Cliff Nelson. The cause of death is currently undetermined pending the result of toxicology tests.

Death investigation

(SALEM) - The Yamhill County Sheriff's Office contacted the Salem Police Department following the discovery of a dead body at the Riverbend Landfill.

It was determined that the body had arrived at the landfill in a garbage truck that had been collecting from dumpsters in West Salem. Detectives from Salem Police responded to the landfill to take over the investigation.

Through the collection of fingerprints, it was determined that the deceased was 55 year old Solveg Birgitte Pedersen Cox. She had resided in the 1200 block of Wallace Rd NW. Next of kin have been notified.

An autopsy was conducted in Clackamas this morning by Dr. Cliff Nelson. The cause of death is currently undetermined pending the result of toxicology tests.

The investigation is on-going.
