UPDATE #2 Hostage Situation in Mt. Angel

As of 5:00 p.m. the incident appears to be over. Video now in from the scene in Mt. Angel.

Several Willamette Valley police agencies have been working throughout the night, trying to resolve a hostage situation in Mt. Angel, Oregon.

(MT. ANGEL, Ore. ) - Several Willamette Valley police agencies have been working throughout the night, trying to resolve a hostage situation in Mt. Angel, Oregon.

Mt. Angel police tell Salem-News.com that officers were called to the home at 775 St. Mary's Avenue in Mt. Angel at 2:34 a.m. Saturday morning, and called Woodburn Police and the Marion County Sheriff's Office for assistance. Salem-News.com was on scene overnight, and will have video in shortly.

Woodburn police have been in contact with the suspect, and are handling negotiations, while Silverton Police and the Marion County Sheriff's Office are handling security in the area, according to Silverton Police.

Police have not said whether or not there have been any evacuations in the area, which has been closed off. There is also no word yet if the suspect is male or female, or who, or how many hostage(s) there are inside the home.

Update 5:00 p.m.: E-mails to Salem-News.com say the situation is now over. Salem-News.com has been unable to reach anyone from the Mt. Angel Police Department for comment, and were told earlier this morning at 10:00 a.m. that a press release was being sent out. We have yet to receive any new information.
