Show Date Approaches for FarCry with Daria O'Neill at Salem Public LibrarySalem-News.comFarCry has played alongside Floater, Adam Brody "Big Japan," Everclear, and The Presidents of the United States of America.
(SALEM) - Daria O'Neill of 105.1 The Buzz FM has been tapped four years running as favorite Portland radio personality. Now, she'll visit Salem Public Library to share her talent and introduce alternative rock band, FarCry. Daria will be emcee for the January World of Music at the Library concert. The show gets underway at 7:00 PM Friday, January 5th in Loucks Auditorium at Salem Public Library, 585 Liberty St. SE. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Tickets are on sale now at all Library Circulation Desks. Daria will visit just days before launching a new afternoon drivetime show on 105.1 The Buzz and becoming the first female lead on an afternoon show in the area. Daria is perhaps best heralded among Portland-area listeners for her 8 years-and-running narrative monologue feature, "Daria's Local Entertainment Guide," in which she spins anecdotes that end with a recommendation for a local event, restaurant, or business. Daria will share some of her Entertainment Guide stories before and during the show. She'll be joined by the 105.1 The Buzz street team with giveaways and other promotions before the show. FarCry, a Portland/Vancouver-based band is coming to Salem off the December 16 launch of their first album, "Consider." They will highlight music from that album as well as the crowd favorites that have been building the band's fan base since it formed in 2003. FarCry has hit the local airwaves with the Mark and Brian morning radio show and The Firm. The group was highlighted as the opening act for Three Day's Grace at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, and has played alongside Floater, Adam Brody "Big Japan," Everclear, and The Presidents of the United States of America. The World of Music at the Library series is sponsored by the Salem Public Library Foundation and the Friends of the Salem Public Library. The series offers seven concerts this year, continuing on the first Friday of each month through April. More information is available online at www.salemlibrary.org or from the library's Information/Reference Desk at 503-588-6052.
