Toddler Shot by Handgun in Face Expected to LiveSalem-News.com
The child was taken by Life Flight to a Portland hospital.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) - A two-year old girl was accidentally shot in the face on Christmas day.
On Friday December 25th just after 11:00 a.m. the Sheriff's Office responded to the 30700 block of S. Marian St near Molalla. The residence called 911 to report a shooting. A two year old female child had been shot in the face with a handgun.
Fire personnel and deputies responded to the scene. The female was taken by Life Flight to a Portland area hospital. She is expected to live and is undergoing surgery.
Clackamas County Detectives responded to the scene and interviewed all involved parties. The investigation showed the child had been shot accidentally while her uncle was cleaning the firearm. The uncle, who lives at the residence, was identified as 24-year old Luke Andrew Bowman.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time and the family is cooperating with detectives.
