Deputies Respond to Bomb Threat in Jefferson‏

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a bomb threat Monday in Jefferson.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says the incident took place at the Sterling Bank on Main Street in Jefferson.

The call regarding a bomb threat came in just after 5:00 PM. After the December loss of two police officers in Oregon over a bomb in a bank have placed law enforcement officers on high alert.

Lorance says Sheriff's deputies responded to the location and conducted a thorough search of the bank and surrounding area and nothing was found.

"The details of the call are not being released at this time while Detectives continue their investigation," Lorance said.
