(RICKREALL, Ore.) - Eola Hills Wine Cellars invites the public to view the stars at its Legacy Estate Vineyard in Salem (located at 1600 Oak Grove Rd) on the evening of Friday, July 17.

Members of the Salem-based astronomy club, Nightsky 45, will be on hand with their telescopes and knowledge about features visible in the night sky - from the moon to familiar constellations named after months of the Zodiac.

Children 8 years and older are welcome at this family-friendly event. (Please leave dogs at home).

To make sure the evening is comfortable for all, it’s recommended that stargazers wear appropriate clothing for the weather, bring bug spray, lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. There will be family-friendly games on the lawn.

A “Star Flight” of wines will be offered at the Legacy Hills Tasting Room ($10), and wine will also be available by the glass. Stargazers welcome to bring picnics or supplies to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. (S’mores supplies available as well, for $2/person).

Star Party Schedule - Friday, July 17 Party begins at 7:00, with 8:30 pm the latest suggested time to arrive. 9:30 - 11:30 pm is the optimal viewing time. Telescopes provided.
