(SUBLIMITY, OR) - The second weekend in September will mark the 40th annual Sublimity Harvest Festival, a destination family event that started as a local truck and tractor pull competition and has evolved into a three-day outdoor weekend festival that includes monster trucks, multi-engine and modified tractors, ATVs, horses, modified trucks and farm tractors.

The Festival opens on Friday, Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. with a Pit Party to meet the drivers and their vehicles. The event is held on the Harvest Festival Grounds at Highway 22 and Golf Club Road in Sublimity.

“This year is going to be huge,” says Festival president BJ Tuttle. “We’re calling it ’40 and Pullin’ Strong’ because we have more volunteers, more sponsors, more activities, more trucks than we’ve ever had. This year we are working with Pro West Productions and will feature their giant 14 by 18 foot TV screen for instant replays, commercials and sponsor exposure. We’re gearing up for a memorable weekend.”

The Festival will welcome stunt trail bike rider Jeremy VanSchoonhoven, , a finalist from the popular television show America’s Got Talent. VanSchoonhoven will perform on Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept. 8, both on the track and in the KidZone. For the first time, the Festival will include the Bi-Mart sponsored Toddler Zone, with activities, games and relaxation for the whole family. In addition, "Bill's Fastsaws" is performing throughout the weekend with a V8-engine chainsaw.
