Oregon Softball Adds Georgia Transfer

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - The Oregon softball program has signed transfer 1B/RHP Geri Ann Glasco, head coach Mike White announced on Thursday.

Glasco, a native of Watkinsville, Ga., played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia and will have two years of eligibility left with the Ducks, starting immediately.

Glasco, a first baseman, was also the No. 2 pitcher for the Bulldogs.

Glasco brings a very impressive resume to Eugene, as she was the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year in 2013 and the Gatorade National Player of the Year as a senior at Oconee County High School.

Glasco was a an All-American in her freshman season after hitting .363 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs. She also posted a 17-8 record with a 3.38 ERA in 137 innings in her first season with the Bulldogs.

Last year, as a sophomore, Glasco hit .297 with 10 home runs but her 53 walks, the 10th most in the NCAA, helped her to a .465 on-base percentage. She improved in the circle in her second collegiate season, going 16-5 with a 2.53 ERA in 143.2 innings. She struck out 109 batters while making 26 starts.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014) (AT GEORGIA)

Second team all-Region...Started all 64 games for the Bulldogs, hitting .297 with 10 home runs, five doubles and 42 RBIs...Drew a whopping 53 walks, good for the 10th most in the NCAA (0.83 per game)...Her 53 walks would have been a single-season program record at Oregon...Struck out just 26 times...Posted a .465 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage...Was also a force in the circle for Georgia...Made 29 appearances with 26 starts...Posted a 2.53 ERA and 16-5 record in 143.2 innings...Struck out 109 batters while walking 66...Opponents hit .243 against her.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013) (AT GEORGIA)

SEC Co-Freshman of the Year...Second team Easton All-American...Third team NFCA All-American...First team all-Region...Led Georgia and ranked 15th in the NCAA with 19 home runs while hitting .363 with 61 RBIs and 11 doubles in her rookie season...Posted a .461 on-base percentage (34 walks, 24 strikeouts) and a team-high .743 slugging percentage...Started all 61 of Georgia's games while also making 30 pitching appearances with 24 starts...Tossed a team-high 11 complete games with a 3.32 ERA and 17-8 record in 137.0 innings...Recorded 124 strikeouts while walking 62...Opponents hit .233 off her.

HIGH SCHOOL

The 2012 Gatorade National Player of the Year...2012 Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year...Four-time first team all-state selection...Named Georgia 3AAA Pitcher of the Year as a junior and 3AAA Player of the Year as a senior...Won state championships with Oconee County HS as a freshman and a senior...As a senior, went 19-0 as a pitcher while hitting .562 with 24 home runs and 62 RBIs...Her 24 home runs as a senior were the most in Georgia High School Association single-season history...Also set Georgia High School Association career records with 47 home runs and 58 doubles while ranking second with 167 RBIs and third with 207 hits.

CLUB

Played travel ball with the Southern Force, helping the squad to a national runner-up finish at the ASA 16U tournament in 2007.

PERSONAL

Parents are Gerry and Vickie Glasco...Major is special education.
