(DAYTON, Ore. ) - A 2-year-old ram that was headed for slaughter on Thursday, turns the tables on the butcher and head butted him sending him to the hospital.

Dayton fire officials say they were called to Ben’s Meat Processing Company, located at 13885 SE Amity-Dayton Highway, and found 49-year-old Kelly Duval lying on the ground with serious head injuries.

The meat processing company owner said he heard Duval yelling and rushed outside. He found him lying on the ground with severe injuries to his face and called 911.

Duval was flown to Oregon Health and Science University, where he is listed in serious condition and is also being treated for back and neck pains.

The owner added he may let the ram responsible for head butting Duval live since it decided to “fight for its life.”
