Denise Keesee, a former high school teacher, was arrested for having sexual relations with two male students.

(SHERWOOD OR) - Detectives say a Sherwood High School teacher, who is married to a Sherwood Police officer, had sexual relationships with male students, and they're concerned that there may be more victims.

38-year-old Denise Keesee turned herself into the Washington County Jail Monday, at about 5:00 p.m. She was charged with six counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.

Mrs. Keesee, while employed as a teacher at Sherwood High School, reportedly had sexual relationships with former male students, while they were still attending the school. The sexual encounters allegedly occurred at separate times between 2006 and 2012. Detectives suspect there are more victims who were involved with Mrs. Keesee.

Background

Washington County Sheriff’s detectives say they received information from the Department of Human Services (DHS) that there was possible misconduct between a Sherwood High School teacher and a student.

Detectives initially said 38-year old Denise Keesee of Sherwood, a teacher at the school, engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with at least one male student. OregonLive is now reporting that there were at least three male students. The Sherwood School District placed Ms. Keesee on administrative leave during the investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office was asked to conduct the investigation by the Sherwood Police Department, because Mrs. Keesee’s husband is a Sherwood Police officer. Investigators say he has a clean record and no apparent involvement with the incidents that led to his wife's arrest. He has not been charged and is not under investigation.

The Sheriff's Office states that the investigation has been complicated and is still ongoing. Sheriff’s detectives are asking the public to report any information that may help their investigation into Mrs. Keesee. Further details of the investigation are not available at this time. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Sherwood School District for their cooperation with this investigation.

If you have information on this case, call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at (503) 846-2500.

Editor's note: Salem-News.com reminds our readers that this story is about an arrest, not a conviction. In the past similar cases have resulted in charges being dropped, and/or the suspect being found not guilty. This type of case devastates a person's reputation and affects their family members, we are not insensitive to that.

It's religion, per se, that's harmful to humanity. Appeals to an invisible man in the sky can not lead to any good.

Sunday School problem? How about other religions who get their members to strap on bombs and kill people?

What a twisted, distorted society. I don't see the harm. If you want to look at harm on the part of authority figures, you need look no further than Sunday School where innocent, trusting children have their heads filled with noxious nonsense.
