The tampering will enable Gaddafi's arrest but protect Israeli war criminals.
(LIVERPOOL) - Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has initiated a campaign to enable people to petition their MPs to support Ann Clwyd's Amendment to the Police Bill currently going through Parliament.
Her Amendment calls for the Government to omit the clause in the Bill which tampers with the present law of Universal Jurisdiction.
The clause is designed to enable Israeli politicians, who may be guilty of war crimes, to come and go to this country without fear of arrest.
The PSC campaign will give more detail - but it is ironic today, the day after the Security Council (including the UK) has declared an arms embargo and asset freeze while referring Col Gaddafi to the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.
The tampering will interpose a political layer between a High Court judge and the issuing of an arrest warrant, enabling perhaps Gaddafi to be arrested but an Israeli, with whom our political masters are friends, not to be arrested.
If you feel this to be wrong as so many people do, please sign the PSC petition to appeal to your own MP to support Ann Clwyd's Amendment.
The banner below will take you to the PSC page: 'No change to Universal Jurisdiction'.
Complete the postcode box which will then reveal a letter addressed to your own MP Fill in your details and 'submit'
You will then be given an opportunity to enter the email address of 8 of your friends who would be invited by PSC to sign the same petition.
A friend who contacted Salem-News.com with this information said, "To make it easier to fill-in 8 names, I found that if I highlighted, by clicking on the names (and email addresses) of people to whom I had sent out emails, and then pressed the 'control and C' keys at the same time to copy those names, I could then insert those names and addresses into the appropriate boxes - after putting the cursor there and then pressing the 'control and V' keys to paste in those names.
"It was easy to switch between the 'Windows Mail' pages and the PSC page to do this. An exercise well worth doing."
