Boys & Girls Club of Salem Offers Spring Break Activities For Kids

Spring Break activities are free for Boys & Girls Club members and non-members may participate for a $5 membership fee.

(SALEM) - Don`t want to hear " I`m bored" from your kids during spring break?

Well, the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties is offering a variety of adventures for kids during their annual break from school.

All four branches of the Boys & Girls Club have planned activities surrounding a different theme each day and will offer the USDA free lunch program.

The USDA free lunch will be offered to any youth under age 18 (membership not required) at noon for each Boys & Girls Club branch.

Knudson, Swegle, Eastwood and Keizer Branches are open 10 AM to 4 PM on the days listed below:

Knudson Branch, 1395 Summer St. NE, Salem: Tuesday, March 28-Saturday, April 1.

Keizer Branch, 4840 Noren Ave. NE, Keizer: Monday, March 27-Friday March 31.

Swegle Branch, 4445 Market St. NE, Salem: Monday, March 27-Friday March 31.

Eastwood Branch, 1120 Savage Rd. NE, Salem: Monday, March 27-Friday March 31.

Kari Bean with Boys & Girls Club of Salem says the Knudson Branch will have activities surrounding the theme: C.S.I. Each day there will be a mystery to solve and at the end of the day during the assembly, we will interview suspects to solve the crime.

Member participation will be high in collecting the evidence and figuring out what happened.

Other special events will include: Fingerprinting, Suspect Sketching, Police Academy Obstacle Course, Squad Car Express, and Solve the Crime games.

Special Field Trips will also be offered daily at the Knudson Branch, including Bowling, Chuck E. Cheese, Wunderland, Enchanted Forest, and a Movie. Call the Boys & Girls Club for specific dates, times, costs, and availability.


The Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties provides positive, guidance-oriented activities to over 13,000 youngsters in grades 1-12 at four youth centers, outreach sites and community athletic leagues. The daily and varied activities at Boys & Girls Club branches are designed to give youth a sense of accomplishment and build self-esteem.
