(CANBY, Ore.) - On Saturday, ten talented horsewomen tested their skills in an effort to be crowned part of the 2011 Canby Rodeo Court. Over 40 spectators came out to watch these lovely ladies give speeches, answer interview questions, and display their horsemanship skills via a reining pattern, an arena queen run, and flag carrying.

This year's Royal Rodeo Court will consist of Queen Kelsey Downs of Canby, Princess Kelsey Schuetz of Mulino, and Princess Haley Marsh of Milwaukie. The first runner up is Brittnie Gartner of Newberg.

A panel of five judges observed and scored each applicant on every section of the tryouts. The scores are added together and the highest scores determine who will be the Queen and Princesses. These three girls will act as ambassadors for the Canby Rodeo and the Clackamas County Fair throughout the summer, with the peak being the Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo, August 16-21, 2011.
