(CORVALLIS) - The Corvallis Transit System will hold its 14th annual "Try Transit Week" beginning Monday.

This year's theme is "Get on Board" and rides will be free all week.

On Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 AM, at the Downtown Transit Center, 5th & Monroe, morning snacks, including juice and coffee will be provided to transit riders.

The event calls attention to public transit's ability to save energy, improve the environment, reduce traffic congestion, improve transportation mobility, and help boost the local economy.

All buses are equipped with bicycle racks for those who wish to combine bicycling and transit to complete their trip.

All buses are also equipped with a wheelchair lift or ramp and a kneeling feature, which lowers the front entrance of the bus.

For additional transit information, including bus schedule information, call (541) 766-6998.
