Oregon State Football Fall Camp Notes Day #2

Sophomore safety A.J. Hedgecock, who missed the 2013 season due to a shoulder injury, has elected to leave the program.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Football It’s only day two of fall camp and the media has focused its attention on the passing game in the early going and despite the repeated answers of head coach Mike Riley and postseason awards candidate quarterback Sean “The Machine” Mannion that sophomore flanker Victor Bolden was a big part of that answer the questions keep coming.

On Tuesday Bolden, who is a candidate for the Paul Hornung Award, showed that the potential is there to provide big plays for the Beavers.

Albany Man Drowns in Willamette River Sunday Night

The victim had gone into the Willamette River at the Crystal Lake Boat Ramp on an inflatable inner tube.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Crystal Lake Boat Ramp On Sunday, at about 5:53 p.m., Benton County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a person who had gone underwater in the Willamette River and had did not return to the surface.

The Corvallis Fire Department boat also responded. At about 7:24 p.m., the body of 24-year-old Lee Roy Allen Dow, from Albany, Oregon, was recovered by divers from the Linn County Sheriff's Office and the Albany Fire Department.

It’s the first preseason event of the year with the season opener just a few short weeks away on Aug. 30 vs. Portland State.

81-Year-Old Corvallis Man Dies While Fishing Snake River

Preliminary investigation indicates the man may have slipped or lost his balance on a large rock.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Snake River Oregon Oregon State Police with the assistance of Malheur County Sheriff's Office, located and recovered a deceased 81-year old Corvallis man who died Tuesday evening while fishing along the Snake River east of Farewell Bend State Recreation Area.

At approximately 9:44 p.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch was notified of a welfare check for an 81-year old man who failed to return to his campsite at Farewell Bend State Recreation Area after going fishing earlier in the day.

(BEAVERTON, Ore. ) - Oregon State Quarterback Sean Mannion Oregon State senior quarterback Sean Mannion will serve as a camp counselor at the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

The Elite 11 Camp features 18 standout high school quarterbacks from around the nation that have been evaluated through a selection process at regional events earlier this year.

Beavers Volleyball: 12 Games on Pac-12 Network

After hosting Michigan, the Beavers turn around and host Michigan State Sept. 13.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - The Oregon State volleyball team announced its 2014 schedule on Monday, and 12 matches have been scheduled for broadcast by the Pac-12 Networks.

Oregon State will appear on TV at Gill Coliseum six times, starting with the 2014 home opener, Sept. 12 against Michigan.

More than 15,000 students took at least one OSU class online in 2013-14.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - A record number of distance students will receive degrees from Oregon State University on Saturday after completing their course work online.

Oregon State will graduate 501 students through its Ecampus on Saturday.
