(MONROE, Ore. ) - An elderly Corvallis-area man died Thursday afternoon when he lost control of his car during a heavy hail storm on Highway 99W about five miles north of Monroe and was struck by another vehicle.

At approximately 5:15 PM, a 1990 Toyota Camry driven by 79-year-old George Moore, age 79, from Corvallis, was northbound on Highway 99W near milepost 96 as a heavy hail storm reportedly came through the area.
