(CLEVELAND) - Jimmy (rent is too damn high) McMillan says every city town and county within the state of New York must be reformed. He says, "Not one elected official is worth being an Elected Official, describing them all as failures."

McMillan says his campaign for Public Office can be the best campaign ever for the people in the City of New York. He is hoping the media pays increasing attention to his theme that represents such a broad cross section of New Yorkers.

Throughout his campaign, Jimmy has offered details over why his economic development plan is the best for the people in the City of New York during these difficult economic times.

The candidate says his straightforward approach is gaining momentum. He believes the $800 Billion Dollar Bailout and the $787 Billion Dollar Stimulus; and as of June 1, 2009, "We the people now own 60% of (GM) General Motors, and because of this investment we are demanding the followings."

  1. RENT FREEZE
  2. RENT REDUCTION
  3. CAP ON RENT
  4. STUDENT LOANS WAIVED/ FORGIVEN
  5. FREE COLLEGE TUITION
  6. NO. FORCLOSURES
  7. FEDERAL & STATE TAX REDUCTION
  8. NO. PEOPERTY & WATER TAXES
  9. MORTGAGE REDUCTION/ WAIVED

His group is calling for the termination of:

  1. Rent Control Board1
  2. Rent Guidelines Board1
  3. Rent Stabilization Board

Because of the massive discrimination in the City of New York they are apart of along with the following Federal agencies;

  1. the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae)
  2. the Federal Home Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac)
  3. U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
  4. New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)
  5. New York State Department lf Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR)

This Housing scheme we uncovered includes the following top elected officials:

  • Mayor Mike Bloomberg
  • Comptroller: Bill Thompson
  • Brooklyn Borough President: Marty Markowitz

"We are calling for them to vacate there bid for reelection."

Jimmy McMillan, “The Rent Is Too Damn High”

Monday night 10/18/10 candidates gathered for governor of New York,
Not so in a debate but to state their case for the job & to give a report,
Of their qualifications, programs with the desired need for this and that,
Enabling the voters and potential donators to get feel of where they're at.

A writer for Politics Daily called the event a circus but that is not case,
No elephants, horses, lions, trapeze artists or clowns all over the place,
When I think of Barnum & Bailey or Ringling Brothers they don’t equate,
Andrew Cuomo, Carl Paladino or whomever I choose to decide my fate.

However, although I no longer reside in that biggest and busiest state,
There actually was one named Jimmy McMillan a third party candidate,
Running on the platform of, “The Rent Is Too Damn High” I can relate,
The millionaires never miss a meal, it’s been days since many last ate.

This former soldier was once stationed in Southeast Asia at Vietnam,
He’s had previous dealings with the misguided works of Uncle Sam,
Declaring he represents the party of, “The Rent Is Too Damn High,”
Plenty laughter from those in attendance at Hofstra University. Why?

Can someone explain the humor when there’s not enough food to eat?
Better still, when those parents and their kids are sleeping in the street,
Obviously they need a voice like that of John, “crying in the wilderness,”
As is not getting better as every year it gets worse, something is amiss.

The writer even calls it a cross between, “News Hour” & “The Maury Show.”
Sleeping in the streets with no food or money is not the American way to go,
Then there is former madam Kristin Davis who wants to legalize, you know,
We might not be able to provide food or shelter but should you need a, “Ho!”

She likened her record keeping not in kind to the corruption at the city’s MTA,
Business was always on time, happy customers and rides weren’t given away,
She kept one set of books and she could keep a secret like her clients names,
And to be governor great of the state of New York this was her claim to fame?

Cuomo claims to know the state, “like anybody else on this stage” ok now laugh,
How can you even come close to knowing how it feels to go weeks w/o a bath?
Life in the jungle one was unable to experience the warmth of a nightly shower,
While the other one well, hopefully for her clients sake she took one every hour.

This minor skirmish of the meeting of the minds can be viewed on, You Tube,
No you will not get to see the madam’s underwear or neither one of her boobs,
I am sure afterwards there was much to drink along with many different foods,
After discussing the plethora of problems facing them, who was in the mood?

Mario also stated, “I understand the disgust at Albany and I share in it.” What?
With no income and no health care, fed at shelters from paper plates and cups,
A gangster threatening a reporter, “to take you out, buddy” Carl, feed the state,
Then you can wine and dine the media Mr. Paladino, those columnists can wait.

Somebody has pointed out a mistake by stating Cuomo’s first name is Andrew,
Not so fast my teacher because if you’ve seen his father you’ve seen him too,
Problem is the old adage, “like father like son” as neither one could ever relate,
Made one mistake with dad this guy should not be Governor of New York State.

The state has an 8 billion dollar deficit, inflated taxes, 8.2% unemployment rate,
The, “Don” touch on Medicare costs that are wrought with fraud, abuse & waste,
With so many serious issues that need to be discussed in New York far & wide,
What better place to start than Jimmy McMillan’s “The Rent Is Too Damn High!”

Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke explained what drives him to try to heal the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in.

We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end.

Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job. You can write to Luke Easter at: lyricsfromlucas@aol.com

First of all, when construction is properly excuted/performed by qualified workers repair is minimal as in the Autoban. Therefore, a freeze is feasible. Revenue comes from taxes of course, stop U.S. companies from outsourcing and employ workers from states where companies do business. Do not allow a monopoly i.e., Microsoft. No way should anybody be worth 60 billion anything in this country. Anhauser-Busch recentley sold for 60+ billion dollars. John McCain's wffe has a beer distributorship worth over 100 million bucks. Did I say fair pricing? Honest and accountable politicians. Jobs sould only be give by what you know and not who you know. These are just several of many ways to make it work. Put a cap on salaries and useless spending. Over 1 billion was spent for a four year presidential gig paying how much? Right! BTW, we do not have, "legal" anarachy now? No, Jimmy's way is not perfect but it's better than what's proposed by the others. One more thing, a rent freeze means more for the madam's plan. Maybe they could run on a dual ticket. Gov and Lt. Luv.

So we freeze the rent, then where does the revenue come from for repairs and improvements? We forgive other financial obligations, thenwhere does the revenue come from for salaries and other expenses? During an interview on CNN recently Jimmy stated he has not paid rent in nearly 30 years. Look it up. Maybe the best way to stimulate more revenue circulating in the economy is having a flat tax and doing away with the IRS and other state taxing authorities? Otherwise what Jimmy is proposing is eventual anarchy.
