Enter the Chameleon

He smiles, nods, speaks and becomes whatever his audience craves. Now don't they feel better.

(LONDON) - The stage is set, the venue is the UN General Assembly, New York and the audience is in place, awaiting the appearance of the star performer, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel.

The chameleon came dressed in the colours of the United States of America. After all, he was speaking in New York and he employed local American idioms and colloquialisms to deliver what was without doubt a brilliant exhibition of showmanship in full Technicolor. All that was missing were the violins.

It’s not the conjuring tricks, which the chameleon performs in front of a be-dazzled audience that we should worry about.

Those are mostly lies and fabrications wrapped in a flimsy attempt at demonizing the other and claiming the high moral ground. What we should all really worry about are the subliminal messages that the chameleon delivers. Nothing this chameleon says or does is in vain.

It is all according to a pre-conceived, well constructed and financed plan to fool the entire universe and rope them into the Zionist web. As the saying goes: “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story”.

So, let’s start from the beginning shall we?

From the moment he opened his mouth he said; “I come here from Jerusalem to speak on behalf of my people, the people of Israel.”

Note the use of the world ‘Jerusalem’ as opposed to the word ‘Tel Aviv’ or even just ‘Israel’. This is to emphasise that Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel no matter what anyone in this gathering may think.

Never mind that the international community considers East Jerusalem as an occupied territory and is earmarked as the capital of the future State of Palestine. That matters not. What matters is the Zionist drive to be-dazzle us all with lies in order to legitimize theft and injustice. And then Mr. Netanyahu says: “Hamas’ immediate goal is to destroy Israel.”

This is yet another one of those lies that is often used by Zionist propagandists. It could not be further from the truth.

Hamas removed the threat to Israel from its charter before it won the elections in 2006. Hamas has accepted publicly the two state solution. Hamas agreed to join the Palestinian Unity Government in April of this year, the declared aim of which is to pursue the two state solution option in a peaceful manner.

Mr. Khaled Maschal, the chief of the political bureau of Hamas declared publicly on Al Jazeera TV recently that Hamas respects the terms of the formation of the Unity Government and will adhere to all its directions.

And when you know that the PA (Palestinian Authority), under Mahmoud Abbas, has been relentlessly pursuing a peaceful solution to the conflict and has fully cooperated with the Security Forces of Israel you can see the magnitude of these lies and fabrications. But then again, why speak the truth when a lie delivered eloquently will serve your purpose? The chameleon went on to equate Hamas with ISIS and Iran with ISIS and claimed that both Hamas and Iran have ambitions to create a Caliphate in the Middle East, as is the declared aim of ISIS. Really? I would like you all to examine the history of Hamas and of Iran.

When was it that Hamas initiated any war or invaded any other nation? In its 7000-year history has Iran attacked any of its neighbours?

Of course, Mr. Netanyahu, in his zeal to entice his supporters into a war against Iran does not permit him to say that Iran, as a matter of fact, is currently helping in the fight against ISIS in Iraq.

As usual, the chameleon came armed, not with the truth, but with conjured images to justify genocide over Gaza. As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words” and how does Mr. Netanyahu like to use pictures.

His pictures, doctored or Photoshopped, it matters not. What matters is to perpetuate the lies and to demonise the victim. The victim here is not only the Palestinian nation, but also the truth itself and the security of our area and the entire world.

He went on to say that a nuclear Iran is an existential threat to Israel, if not the world. Not a shred of evidence has been found by international investigators, the CIA and many other observers that Iran is in the process of developing nuclear weapons. Unlike Israel, which is proven to have one of the largest stockpiles of nuclear weapons in the world. As a matter of fact Israel is the only nuclear power in the Middle East. But they are entitled. They are allowed. They are exceptional. They are a law unto themselves. They are out of reach of any international law or convention. After all, they are Israel.

And the underlying message here from Tel Aviv is, we will not tolerate any resistance of any shape or form to our dominance in the area and you, the western powers must continue to subsidize us till kingdom come. At last he spoke of what he sees as peace, portraying Israel as the seeker of peace and us, the Palestinians as the peace destroyers.

Now please tell me, how is it that Israel seeks peace when it is occupying the entire landmass of Palestine?

How is it that the Palestinians seek to destroy peace when the PLO accepted the existence of Israel back in 1988 and agreed to the two-state solution by signing the Oslo accord in 1993, which in effect gave Israel 80% of the historical land of Palestine and us, the real owners of the land 20%?

Then Mr. Netanyahu called upon the Arab neighbours to accept his hand in peace with a proviso.

“But the old template for peace,” he pointed out, “must be updated. It must take into account new realities and new roles and responsibilities for our Arab neighbors.”

Translation: We have stolen this land by force, we have created facts on the ground by force and you have to accept it. After all we are the power here.

Then the lies continued; how they made the land flourish, how there is tangible evidence of their connection to the land, how they are returnees to their ancestral home and not occupiers. All these lies, despite archives of material and pictures to show the beautiful, fertile lands of Palestine long before the arrival of the Zionists.

Even their own head of archaeology, Israel Finklestein, known as ‘the father of biblical archaeology’ revealed to the Jerusalem Post two years ago that there is no archaeological evidence to back the existence of Exodus, nor Joshua’s conquest of Canaan, nor The Temple of Solomon.

According to Finkelstein's university colleague, archaeology lecturer Rafi Greenberg, Israel is supposed to find something if it digs for a period of six weeks. But, Greenberg told the Jerusalem Post Israelis have been excavating the so-called City of David in the occupied Jerusalem neighbourhood of Silwan for two years to no avail.

The further message to the Palestinians and the Arabs is; you will have to accept the status quo as it is or we will engage you in endless wars and conflict. We have our own spin-doctors to portray you as an uncivilized aggressor, devoid of any morality and us, the Israelis, as your victims. And the finale of this showman extraordinaire?

“Ladies and gentlemen, let us light a torch of truth and justice to safeguard our common future. Thank you."

How could anybody believe that land theft, ethnic cleansing, genocide and apartheid comprise a torch of truth and justice?

“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” Voltaire.

He was born in Jenin, northern Palestine, was educated in England and spent the early years of his working life in the Arabian Gulf and Saudi Arabia. He has traveled far and wide, searching for the answer to a question that still eludes him.

Why does the United States of America support the Zionist line in such a blind folded way while ignoring the legitimate rights of the indigenous Palestinian people? Particularly as the Palestinian people harbour no ill feelings towards America and its people nor has ever caused them any harm. It is, Jafar says, a conundrum.
