Salem Police Host Open House (English and Spanish)

(SALEM) - Salem Police hope your weekend plans include a visit to the Salem Police Department's 3rd Annual Open House on Saturday, September 16th, 2006, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Riverfront Park.

Discover the many services and resources provided by your local law enforcement agency. Presentations will be scheduled throughout the day from specialty units such as Bomb Squad, K9, and the 911 Center.

The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the department's proven crime prevention program, Neighborhood Watch. A special commemorative ceremony will take place with Mayor Janet Taylor and Police Chief Jerry Moore.

Salem's local business community will also participate with displays and information on crime prevention topics and services. For example, Garten Services will also be onsite to provide document shredding that helps to reduce the opportunity for identity theft.
