(BEHLEHEM - Ma'an/Agencies) - The Ma'an News agency reports that a shipment of medical supplies from the Egyptian Red Crescent arrived at the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip Tuesday, and was sent through the following day, Egyptian government sources reported.

According to an official at the North Sinai Governorate Ahmed Kamel, 135 tons of medicine plus renal-dialysis equipment, was included in the delivery.

The residents of Gaza have been hard pressed to make ends meet since Israel began attacking mostly civilian targets last December and January.

Israel called the military action that left over 1400 dead a reprisal for Hamas rocket attacks, which are said to have killed four Israeli citizens.

Local sources explain that the rocket attacks were a reprisal also, toward Israel for not opening border crossings that it had agreed to previously.

Public and political pressure is mounting over the aggressive military posturing Israel routinely takes toward its neighbors.

Yesterday, Salem-News.com announced that the British Trade Unions would enact a boycott of Israeli goods that originate from the illegal Israeli settlements. They are mostly built on land that was seized from Palestinians.

A drop indeed but at least it is something considering whats being done.

135 tons. Sounds like a lot but really, in terms of need, it's a drop in the bucket.
