New Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Testing Equipment Being Installed in Marion County

(SALEM) - The new Intoxilyzer 8000 Breath Testing equipment is being installed at seven Marion County area law enforcement agency locations Wednesday, replacing the current Intoxilyzer 5000 models that have been in use for over twelve years. Officials say installation in other areas of the State will be phased in over the next several months. The Oregon State Police Forensic Services Division is installing the new breath testing equipment at the following Marion County area locations: * Oregon State Police Salem Area Command Office
* Keizer Police Department
* Marion County Jail
* Salem Police Department
* Silverton Police Department
* Stayton Police Department
* Woodburn Police Department Training for around 3,500 police officers around the State is being provided for certification to use the Intoxilyzer Model 8000 breath-alcohol testing instrument.
