Currently, the Bearcats have two boats rowing at the Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass. (TACOMA, Wash.) - The Willamette rowing team competed at the Head of Silcox on Saturday, Oct. 17 at American Lake. Willamette had six boats compete in the event, which was hosted by the University of Puget Sound.
Willamette's women's novice 8+ and the women's second novice 8+ finished in first place for the Bearcats.

The Ducks' sweep of the Bears by a 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 score was the first by Oregon in the rivalry since 1990 and third ever in the 63-match series dating back to their first-ever meeting in 1977.

“This was a pretty outstanding first showing four our team,” Oregon State head coach Larry Liebowitz said. “We had a very good day but we still have some work to do if we want to walk away with the win tomorrow.”

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - In a battle for sole possession of second place in the Northwest Conference women’s volleyball race, Lyndsay Hovee had 15 kills and 16 digs to lead the George Fox University Bruins to a 3-1 victory (14-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-23) over the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers Wednesday night here at the Pamplin Sports Center.
It was the ninth consecutive win for the Bruins, their longest streak since winning 20 in a row from Sept. 6-Oct. 24, 1998, and raised their record to 14-3 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

(NEWBERG, Ore. ) - Twin sisters Lauren and Ashley Kanda teamed up for three goals and two assists in the first half as the visiting Pacific University Boxers jumped out to a huge lead and coasted to a 3-0 win over the George Fox University Bruins in a Northwest Conference women’s soccer match Wednesday afternoon here at Morse Field.
Lauren Kanda got the Boxers going with an unassisted goal at 23:25. After taking a throw-in near the right sideline, she dribbled through two George Fox defenders into the penalty box and sent a shot in from 15 yards away that was blocked by Bruin keeper Autumn Van Meter but not controlled, and the ball slipped through her hands and into the net.

“There is no doubt this is going to be an entertaining and hard-fought match,” head coach Linus Rhode said. “Playing an in-state rival is always a great opportunity and the Civil War is always a match where both teams give it their best effort. We had great crowds last weekend and I know the team is excited to play in front of the home crowd again.”

Rowan hit 9 of 9 extra points and placed his only punt of the game inside the 20-yard line.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - The Northwest Christian University men’s soccer team came back from an early deficit only to see their own lead fade away late in a 3-2 loss to Corban College in Cascade Collegiate Conference action at Mike Kelly Field on Tuesday night.
Corban got the scoring underway in the 27th minute when Travis Wells found the 6-foot 3-inch frame of Ayouba Moussa on a cross, with Moussa hitting a header into the upper corner of the net.
