(MONMOUTH, Ore.) - The Western Oregon University baseball coaching staff will have a new look in the 2010 season as Kellen Walker has been promoted to the role of recruiting coordinator and Matt Skundrick has been hired as the pitching coach, announced WOU head coach Jeremiah Robbins Wednesday, July 1st.
Walker has been with the Western Oregon baseball program for the past three seasons working mainly as the infielders coach and hitting instructor but will now assume the role of recruiting coordinator in addition to his other duties.

Salem-News.com Sports (June 30, 2009 16:01)Scott Meredith Named New Women’s Basketball Coach at Oregon Tech Salem-News.com SPORTSLast season Meredith was the girl’s basketball varsity head coach at Fortuna High School, leading the team to a 25-5 overall record. (KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Oregon Tech Athletic Director Michael Schell has announced the hiring of Scott Meredith as the new head coach of the women’s basketball program. Meredith beat out a very strong field of 127 applicants.
Schell said, “Scott is a good hire for Oregon Tech. He will take our women’s program to new heights. Scott beat out some great candidates from across the country.” Meredith has coached basketball for 29 seasons, 19 of those with women’s teams.

(SEASIDE, Ore.) - The Valley LawDawgs quieted the North Coast STORM with a 13 to 7 win in the first game of the Law Enforcement for Youth Pig Bowl series held Saturday June 27th. The Storm came out strong offensively and moved the ball methodically down the field but the offense sputtered in the red zone most of the day. The two teams battled through four quarters of tough back and force competition.
The two LawDawg touchdowns were scored by running back John Richey and Jeff Gooding the Storm quarterback rushed for the Storm's touchdown.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Oregon State baseball head coach Pat Casey will appear on ESPN2 during a College World Series broadcast featuring Arizona State and North Carolina on Thursday night.
Casey is scheduled to appear in the booth starting in the third inning of the game, which is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. PT start. Note that his appearance time on the cable network could change at a moment’s notice so make sure to stay tuned to the game.

(NEWBERG, Ore.) - After another record-setting season in 2009, the George Fox University Bruins finished the year with a No. 12 ranking in the final NCAA Division III D3baseball.com national poll as voted on by the website’s panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors, and media members from around the country, the second-highest ranking at the end of the season in Bruin history.
Only the 2004 team, which went 40-10 and won the D-III World Series to earn the No. 1 spot in the nation, had a higher final ranking that this year’s Bruins. Prior to that, the 2003 team was ranked 14th after compiling a 31-13 record and finishing second in the West Regional to eventual national champion Chapman University.

Heavy rains minutes before the race was scheduled to begin postponed the race until after the Nationwide Series race concluded Saturday.
Under sunny skies, Hornaday took to the track looking for another win at the Monster Mile. Hornaday led the first twelve laps of the race before Kyle Busch caught the No. 33.

(FORT WORTH, Texas) - Oregon State had a chance late in the game but fell to Texas Christian University 5-4 Sunday night ending its season at the Fort Worth Regional.
Oregon State (37-19) had an early 4-0 lead but saw it dwindle away as the Horned Frogs fought back to tie the game with one run in the third and three runs in the fifth inning before heading into the ninth inning tied 4-4.

Willamette lost additional ground on its way to the 1,000-meter mark, but gained momentum over the final 1000 meters. (CAMDEN, N.J.) - The Willamette University women's varsity eight+ took fifth place in the Division III Petite Final at the NCAA Championship Regatta on Saturday, May 30 at Cooper River Park. As a result, the Bearcats finished 11th overall in their first appearance at the NCAA Championships.
Willamette's varsity eight+ included stroke Geneva Hooten, 7-seat Kelsey White, 6-seat Hilary Andrus, 5-seat Christina Thorburn, 4-seat Sarah Schroeder, 3-seat Morgan Iveson, 2-seat Karina Hoogstede and bow Larissa Stiglich. Erica Soma was the coxswain.

(FORT WORTH, Texas ) - The Oregon State baseball team dropped its second game at the Fort Worth Regional, losing to No. 1 seed and host TCU, 13-1, Saturday night at Lupton Stadium.
The Beavers drew six walks against TCU starter Kyle Winkler, but produced just two hits off the freshman over eight innings. Winkler improved to 7-0 on the year.

The Cardinal posted a 2-0 lead after one, but the Beavers were able to answer with three runs in the top half of the second. (STANFORD, Calif.) - Oregon State rallied with runs in the seventh and eighth innings, but the Beavers could not hold off Stanford late and dropped a 7-6 decision to the Cardinal Saturday night at Sunken Diamond.
Down 5-3 entering the seventh, Oregon State managed two runs in the inning off a passed ball and a wild pitch. The two runs evened the score at five, but the Beavers allowed two runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Stam, a freshman from Siletz, Ore., threw a 135-10 / 41.40m to finish fifth in her heat and was the ninth and last qualifier for the finals.

With the win, George Fox avoided elimination from the tournament after losing a 2-1 heartbreaker Thursday night to California Lutheran University.
