Crash on Hwy 99E Near Canby Injures Eight- Six Transported

Lifeflight was unable to fly to the scene due to weather.
(CANBY, Ore.) -
Canby Fire was dispatched to a two car crash at the intersection of Hwy 99E and Territorial Rd about 4:12 p.m.
When crews arrived they found two cars with significant damage from the crash, and eight people that required medical care, including three small children. One child was among those transported with serious injuries.

Marion County Traffic Safety Team Deputies Investigate Head-On Crash

UPDATE: Following the investigation by the MCSO Traffic Safety Team, Ian Beyers was charged with driving while Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Assault 3.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
A head-on motor vehicle crash sent one driver to the hospital by helicopter earlier this evening. Marion County Deputies responded to a call received at 5:07 p.m. and located the crash in the 18000 block of Fobert Road NE, between Hubbard and Aurora.
Investigation revealed that eighteen-year-old Ian L. Beyers of Canby was traveling southbound in his 1994 Jeep Cherokee when he lost control of his car as it started up an incline on the gravel road.

Canby Rodeo Court Tryouts - Royals Crowned

On Saturday, ten talented horsewomen tested their skills in an effort to be crowned part of the 2011 Canby Rodeo Court. Over 40 spectators came out to watch these lovely ladies give speeches, answer interview questions, and display their horsemanship skills via a reining pattern, an arena queen run, and flag carrying.
This year's Royal Rodeo Court will consist of Queen Kelsey Downs of Canby, Princess Kelsey Schuetz of Mulino, and Princess Haley Marsh of Milwaukie. The first runner up is Brittnie Gartner of Newberg.

Crash Kills Teen Girl in Canby, Spares Younger Brother

Canby High School officials are preparing to provide emotional support for the students Monday.
(CANBY, Ore.) -
Canby Fire crews and Clackamas Sheriff deputies, were dispatched to a one-car motor vehicle accident located across the street from 7850 S Zimmerman Road shortly after 4:00 p.m. Friday.
Camby Fire Division Chief Troy Buzalsky, says responding crews were told that there were serious injuries, possibly fatal in nature.

Fire in Canby Damages Home and Business

There were no injuries in the fire, but the home's contents were all badly damaged from smoke and heat, estimates are expected to exceed $100,000 to the home and its contents.

Canby Fire was dispatched to a reported fire in a home located at 24451 S Central Point Road today at approximately 3:00 p.m. Fire agency Spokesman Troy Buzalsky, says the occupant called 911 indicating they have fire blowing out a window.
"Prior to Canby Fire's arrival the business owner attempted to extinguish the fire with both a fire extinguisher and a hose," Buzalsky said.

Crews Battle the Cold to Save Canby`s Willamette Nursery From Fire (PHOTOS)

Canby Fire units were dispatched to two overlapping reported structure fires this morning at 5;00 a.m. The first was reported as a residential fire at 1526 NE 19th Loop. The second, just four minutes later, was reported as a commercial fire located at 25571 S. Barlow Road.
"When crews arrived to the initial dispatched address they quickly determined that there was no fire, just a furnace malfunction, so all available crews were re-directed to the commercial fire."

18-Year Old Male Pulled from the Molalla River and Airlifted to OHSU

The victim was airlifted by Lifeflight to OHSU. He was listed as serious but stable by Paramedics.

Canby Fire was dispatched to an unknown medical incident on S. Railroad, in the City of Barlow, today at approximately 3:39 p.m.
Information given to rescuers enroute advised that an 18-year old male had been pulled from the Molalla River, and was being transported via ATV to the listed address, which was approximately 1/4 mile from where the situation occurred, according to Canby Fire Spokesman Troy Buzalski.

Canby Family Roused From Sleep by Raging Fire

A Canby family awoke to the sound of a raging fire and a smoke alarm this morning just after midnight.
"They looked out the window to find there storage shed fully involved in fire no more then a few feet from there home," Deputy Fire Marshal Todd Gary said.
