Fugitive Josh Nicholas Captured in Yamhill County

After successfully eluding police, Nicholas was captured hours later at a residence in unincorporated Yamhill County.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 2007 photo of 36-year old Josh Nicholas Officials say a fugitive out of Washington County, 36-year old Josh Nicholas, was captured tonight in rural Yamhill County by investigators who had been looking for him throughout the day.

Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says deputies and the US Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force tracked Josh Nicholas down, explaining that he is a felon wanted for parole violation warrants.

Arrests Made in Cornelius Murder

Officers from the Cornelius Police, along with officers from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Hillsboro Police are continuing the investigation.

(CORNELIUS, Ore.) - Two suspects have been arrested in a murder investigation that occurred over the weekend, according to Commander Ed Jensen with Cornelius Police.

The investigation stems from the death of 19-year old Eduardo Andrade-Alcanter of Hillsboro was killed on October 2, 2009.

Community Sex Offender Notification Issued in Cornelius

The state decision to release the sex offenders into the neighborhood was made without giving notice to the residents of this Cornelius community.

(CORNELIUS, Ore.) - Registered Oregon sex offenders: Matthew John Shipley, Jerry Allan Farstad, and Harold Austin Aven A recent decision by the Oregon Psychiatric Security Review Board means serious sex offenders will take mandatory walks through a Cornelius neighborhood on a regular basis.

The decision to re institute this policy has law enforcement officials in the area alarmed, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a Community Sex Offender Notification to residents in the City of Cornelius.
