Plane Crash Sole Survivor was Pilot`s Best Friend

(HUBBARD, Ore) - 68-year old William E.C. Kennedy III, of SW Portland, died on impact when his airplane crashed into a tree farm just east of the Lehhart Airpark.

William ‘Bill' Kennedy, a Vietnam Veteran, was piloting this plane while accompanied by his beloved Australian Shepherd, named ‘Charlie'.

Marion County Traffic Safety Team Deputies Investigate Head-On Crash

UPDATE: Following the investigation by the MCSO Traffic Safety Team, Ian Beyers was charged with driving while Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Assault 3.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A head-on motor vehicle crash sent one driver to the hospital by helicopter earlier this evening. Marion County Deputies responded to a call received at 5:07 p.m. and located the crash in the 18000 block of Fobert Road NE, between Hubbard and Aurora.

Investigation revealed that eighteen-year-old Ian L. Beyers of Canby was traveling southbound in his 1994 Jeep Cherokee when he lost control of his car as it started up an incline on the gravel road.

(HUBBARD, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives have been called in to assist with the investigation of a fatal hit & run pedestrian collision that occurred Saturday night, 3/4 of a mile south of Hubbard.

Deputies Ryan Clarke and Tom Croft were called to the scene in the 17000 block of Front Street NE at 8:59 p.m., according to Don Thomson with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Working to improve agricultural research capabilities in Oregon, U.S. Senators Ron Wyden (D- Ore.) and Jeff Merkley (D- Ore.) announced that an agriculture appropriations bill passed by the U.S. Senate contains more than nearly $7 million in projects for Oregon.

Included in the bill is funding for research into improving Oregon’s crops, utilizing Oregon’s forest resources, and controlling invasive species.
