Citizen Reports Cougar Sighting in Lake Oswego Today

As always, the police department asks that citizens report any sightings by calling 911.

(LAKE OSWEGO, OR) - Overlook Drive in Lake Oswego The Lake Oswego Police Department answered a call at about 6:45 a.m. today, from a resident in the 2800 block of Overlook in Lake Oswego, who reported a cougar sighting in the rear yard of the family home that opens into a large green space.

The youth reported seeing what he described as a cougar climbing down from a tree and running into the open space as he let the family's dog out early in the morning.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Clackamas County suspect drawing Attached is a sketch from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Forensic Artist of the suspect in todays Lake Oswego murder.

The suspect description is: white male adult, 20-40 years old, 6 feet tall, slender build, beard, thin face with sharp features, wearing light colored long sleeved top, and a headwrap.

(WEST LINN, Oregon) - antera Evelyn Beavis (35 of Keizer) and her ex-husband Bradley Christian Beavis (37 of Salem) West Linn Police arrested Santera Evelyn Beavis and her ex-husband, Bradley Christian Beavis of Salem, after a traffic stop reveals evidence of car break-ins and drug possession.

An officer stopped the car after learning that the owner had an arrest warrant, he turned around to catch up to the car, and it began to drive erratically.

PCC`s Senior Studies Institute: Having Fun and Turning 20

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - members of Portland Community College Senior Studies Institute It's laughter, lively discussions and lots of learning. What is it? It's the Senior Studies Institute at Portland Community College and its turning 20 years old this year.

At the Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation District Building and five other locations around Portland, the institute is giving retirees a path to lifelong learning. On a day in early September, about two-dozen senior citizens gathered in one of the old Safeco Insurance Building's classrooms on Kruse Way to chat about current events. In these classes, there's food, social networking, exchange of ideas and plenty of learning. Through offerings like this one, SSI gives attendees a social network and a way to continue their education.

Large Tree Falls in Power Lines, Blocks Access for 50 Lake Oswego Residents

(LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.) - Tree across Lakefront Rd Lake Oswego Oregon This morning at 8:11 am a large tree fell across Lakefront Rd. at McVey Avenue in Lake Oswego. The tree took down power lines and other utility lines as it fell.

Lake Oswego Firefighters secured the scene and denied access to the area due to the power lines tangled in the fallen tree.
