Oregon Lottery Quarterly Transfer 3rd Largest in History

"The Lottery’s mission to maximize profits for the State of Oregon is certainly reflected in this latest transfer," - Oregon Lottery Director Dale Penn.

(SALEM ,Ore.) - Oregon lottery building The Oregon Lottery’s quarterly transfer of $164.3 million to the State’s Economic Development Fund on January 28th 2008, was the third largest ever since the Lottery began selling tickets in 1985.

The largest quarterly transfer, $208.7 million, was recorded for the quarter ending September 2007. The second largest transfer of $167.7 million was for the quarter ending in September 2006.

Oregon Lottery Scratch-its: The New Joe Camel

The Oregon Lottery calls the scheme a "promotional program" and is using shills from the media to maximize its slick PR campaign.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Joe Camel Years ago, facing legal and political pressure for marketing cancer sticks to youth, R.J. Reynolds put out to pasture its infamous Joe Camel mascot. Today's "Scratch-it for Schools" campaign by the Oregon State Lottery may not sport a character with a hump, but its cynicism brings back memories of old Joe.

Last November, the Oregon Lottery, with help from the Oregon Department of Education, invited K-12 public schools to gamble on Scratch-it for Schools. This month, the Lottery picked 75 applicants to play the game.

Theft of Lottery Ticket Could Get Man Ten Years

Springfield Man Arrested Following Theft of Winning $50,000 Lottery Scratch-it Ticket

(SPRINGFILED, Ore.) - Charles Dizick An investigation by Oregon State Police Lottery Security Section detectives has led to the arrest of a Springfield man who allegedly stole a winning $50,000 scratch-it ticket from the victim at a Springfield restaurant. The suspect was arrested when he came to lottery headquarters to claim the $50,000 prize.

Police were contacted by the victim, a 37-year old Kooskia, Idaho resident, on December 26th, reporting the theft that day of a winning Oregon Lottery scratch-it ticket.

Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $32 Million; Two $1 Million Power Play Prizes Won

The numbers drawn Saturday evening were 2, 22, 32, 36, 47, and the Powerball was 36. The Power Play multiplier was 5.

Milwaukie Man Wins $182.7 Million Powerball® Jackpot

When asked about his future plans, the winner said travel was at the top of the list.

(SALEM) - Oregon lottery building One sleepless night after learning he was holding the winning $182.7 million Powerball® jackpot ticket, Daniel Gannon of Milwaukie claimed his prize today at the Lottery office in Salem.

Gannon, 60, matched all five numbers and the power ball number in Saturday's multi-state Powerball lottery game to win the $182.7 million jackpot.

Gannon purchased the ticket at the Safeway on SE McLoughlin in Milwaukie on Friday.

$182.7 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in Oregon

Players purchased more than $39.6 million in tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Powerball Powerball paid off big Saturday evening for one lucky Oregonian. One lucky ticket in Oregon matched all 6 numbers to win the $182.7 million jackpot. The holder of the winning ticket will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash "lump sum" amount of $88,067,283.

Five tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000. These tickets were sold in Indiana (1), Kentucky (1), Minnesota (1), Wisconsin (1), and West Virginia (1).

Oregon Says Goodbye to Betting on NFL Games

Sports Action began 1989, while Monday Night Scoreboard was introduced in 2003.

(SALEM) - Oregon State Capitol building Super Bowl XLI marks the last day of the Oregon Lottery’s Sports Action, and Monday Night Scoreboard.

During the 2005 Oregon legislative session, House Bill 3466, which goes into effect on July 1st was passed to eliminate the Lottery’s sports games, specifically Sports Action and Monday Night Scoreboard, after the 2006-07 football season.

Oregon Lottery Makes Record $167.7 Million Transfer to State

The transfer raises the total amount of lottery revenue transferred to the state to $4.96 billion.

(SALEM) - LOttery building exterior With the Oregon Lottery's record-setting $1 billion sales for fiscal year 2006 already in the books, fiscal year 2007 is off to a good start.

The lottery's $167.7 million transfer to the Economic Development Fund for the first quarter of fiscal year 2007 ending September 30th, 2006, was its highest ever.

"Our business plan for the current fiscal year was developed to continue the successes we enjoyed in fiscal year 2006," said Oregon Lottery Commission Chair Steve Ungar. "More importantly, record lottery transfers provide added revenue to projects and programs throughout Oregon."
