(UPDATE) Police Seek Suspect in McMinnville Shooting

From statements given to investigators it appears as though the suspect knew the victim and this is not a random act.
(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) -
McMinnville Police say a man was shot last night at the Circle K convenience store located at 840 NE 3rd Street.
Officers responded to the scene at 6:38 p.m. and located a Hispanic man, identified as 36-year old Javier Vage Jr. of Salem, who had been shot in the hand and leg.

National Project Leads to Dramatic Reduction in Food Waste at Linfield College

Colleges like to talk about going green, but dining hall waste leaves some budget columns in the red. Linfield is working to change that. A lot of food that ends up on college campuses is grown, transported, prepared — and thrown out.
A tracking study at Linfield College, part of a pilot project at eight U.S. schools, has led to a dramatic reduction in kitchen food waste. Employees at participating schools reduced the amount of food going to the landfill by about one third, simply by tracking and monitoring waste before it even makes it onto the students’ trays.

McMinnville High School Campuses Burglarized - One Suspect Arrested

Vandalism and burglary are two of many pending offenses.
(McMinnville, Oregon) -
McMinnville Officers responded to burglary reports at McMinnville High School at 615 NE Evans Street and the Media, Arts, and Communication Academy (MACA) at 1330 NE Cowls Street early this morning.
Surveillance video indicated the burglaries were committed by two males and that they started at 0200 this morning.
