Wild coho find new digs in Cedar Creek

(CLACKAMAS, Ore) -
For the first time in more than 50 years, wild coho are moving into the upper reaches of Cedar Creek near Sandy.
After years of planning and preparation, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is in the process of releasing more than 100 wild coho into the stream in the Sandy River Basin.

Wanted Gresham Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Crash Near Sandy

(SANDY, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police (OSP), with the help of Clackamas County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) and Sandy police (SPD), arrested a Gresham man who was wanted on numerous warrants after he fled a Monday night traffic crash on Highway 26 at Orient Drive west of Sandy.
According to OSP Trooper Tyler Bechtel, on October 25, 2010 at approximately 8:44 p.m. a 1990 Nissan pickup driven by Enedino Gonzalez Hernandez, age 30, from Gresham, was westbound on Highway 26 approaching the intersection with Orient Drive near milepost 22.

Serious Injury Traffic Crash Highway 26 East of Sandy

(SANDY, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into a two-vehicle Friday afternoon serious injury traffic crash on Highway 26 east of Sandy.
According to OSP Trooper Dessa DeForest, on October 1, 2010 at approximately 5:19 p.m. a 2007 Freightliner Sprinter van driven by Anglina Wilson, age 36, from Sandy, was eastbound on Highway 26 at Weber Road near milepost 31 moving from the right lane to the left lane to pass another vehicle.

Couple Arrested in Murder of 3-Year Old Child in Sandy

Four additional children of the arrested couple were taken by Child Custody officials.
(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) -
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigators continued their investigation of the the death of a three-year-old child in Sandy that was reported Saturday. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman, Det. Jim Strovink, says officials are not releasing the name of the child.
Investigators say the child lived at the residence with the biological father, 27-year old Donald L. Cockrell.

Homicide Detectives Investigate Death of 3-Year Old Child

Several agencies are investigating
(SANDY, Ore.) -
Sheriff's deputies and Fire Rescue personnel responded to a reported death of a three-year-old child Saturday at approximately 1:00 p.m. in rural Sandy.
It is expected that a forensic autopsy will be performed by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office on the deceased child soon.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies want residents to know that they are out in force, attempting to locate the homicidal shooting suspect Near Sandy.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
Clackamas deputies were called out to a shooting approximately 8 miles east of the City of Sandy, in rural Clackamas County Friday at 3:15 p.m. A woman was shot to death in her family home. The incident has sparked an ongoing manhunt in Sandy.

An Eagle Creek Woman and her daughter died as a result of the crash.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police troopers and Clackamas County interagency crash investigation team, are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and the east end of SE Orient Drive.
State troopers say the Saturday afternoon two-vehicle traffic crash resulted in the death of an Eagle Creek mother and her daughter, and non-life threatening injuries to a third person.

Body Found in Sandy River Identified as Missing Teen

Clackamas County Confirms Recovered Body From Sandy River Is Drowning Victim Patrick James Cody Monteith, Age 16, From Sandy
(SANDY, Ore.) -
A spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says teh county's Medical Examiners Office has confirmed that the deceased corpse recovered earlier today from the Sandy River, is in fact the missing teen who was presumed drowned in the Sandy River as a result of swimming mishap on the Sandy River in late June.
The body recovered earlier today on the Sandy River, has been positively identified by the Clackamas County Medical Examiners Office as 16-year old Patrick James Cody Monteith of Sandy, Oregon. He was a Sandy High student.
Patrick Cody disappeared around 2:12 PM, Saturday, June 28th, when he was apparently swept down the Sandy River east of Marmot. No recovery was made as a result of extensive water; ground and aerial searching conducted over a two-day period of time.

Oregon Woman Survives Black Bear Attack

Because of the recent increase of bear and human encounters, fish and wildlife officials remind residents to not feed bears or any other wildlife.
(SANDY, Ore.) -
State Police officials say a Sandy-area woman received non-life threatening injuries late Sunday night when she encountered a black bear at her home. Rick Hargrave with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, says around 11:00 PM Sunday, the 58-year old woman who lives about five miles northeast of Sandy, heard noises coming from her back porch.
