ODFW: Public Meetings On Revised Dog and Raptor Training Rules

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com ODFW will host several public meetings to present proposed new rules related to the training of hunting dogs and raptors and competitive field trials for hunting dogs.

(Springfield, Oregon) - Oregon Ducks Jordan Hasay won the NCAA West Regional individual title to lead the Women of Oregon to a runner-up finish Saturday at Springfield Country Club. The Men of Oregon then topped that by taking the team title in a two-point decision over Stanford in a thrilling morning of racing along the Mohawk River.

Serious Single Vehicle DUII Crash in Eugene - Springfield Area

A vehicle driven by a Eugene man drifted off the right shoulder, traveled back across the southbound lanes and struck the center concrete barrier where it rolled several times.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Wrecked GMC Jimmy A Eugene man was seriously injured early Monday morning in a single vehicle rollover crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the Eugene/Springfield area.

Third Suspect Arrested in Oakridge Home Invasion Robbery Identified

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Wayne Thomas New dmv photo The third of three suspects sought following a reported home invasion robbery in Oakridge and subsequent attempt to elude in a vehicle and on foot was arrested Sunday afternoon following release from an area hospital.

All three suspects are now lodged in the Lane County Jail after their arrests late Friday night near Vida. The investigation is continuing.

Two of Three Suspects Arrested in Oakridge Home Invasion Robbery Identified

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Left: David Bryan New Right: Byron Leroy Two of the three suspects sought following a reported home invasion robbery in Oakridge and subsequent attempt to elude in a vehicle and on foot are now lodged in the Lane County Jail and their names are being released.

All three were taken into custody by late Friday night near Vida and were being treated at an area hospital for various possible injuries. The third suspect's name is withheld until he has been released from the hospital and lodged at the Lane County Jail. The investigation is continuing.

Oakridge Man Dies in Crash Near Harrisburg Interchange

OSP troopers from the Albany Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Harrisburg Interchange in Oregon 16 April 2010 Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened Friday along I-5 south of the Harrisburg interchange, that resulted in the death of an Oakridge man.

Senior Trooper Russell Decker says OSP will work with the medical examiner to learn if a possible medical problem may have been a contributing factor.

Oregon Motorcycle Operator Dies from Injuries Sustained in Monday Crash

The crash happened Monday on Belt Line Road north of Eugene.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Fatal crash on the Beltline in Eugene, Oregon 9-14-09 A Springfield-area motorcyclist who was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash, died early Wednesday morning at an area hospital. The crash happened police say, when the rider lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Belt Line Road north of Eugene.

Oregon State Police says 21-year old Timothy Russell Tull of Springfield was riding a 1997 Yamaha motorcycle September 14, 2009 at approximately 4:10 p.m. eastbound on Belt Line Road near milepost 6 when the crash occurred.

Old McKenzie Pass Highway Now Open

The "old" McKenzie Pass Highway became a seasonal scenic highway in 1962.

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) - McKenzie Pass on Oregon Route 242 The McKenzie Pass Highway (OR 242) is now officially open to all traffic. The highway has been closed to complete a highway repaving project that has now been completed.

The nearly $4 million dollar project, funded by the Federal Highway Administration, cut back the slope and realigned the highway, replaced two bridges and repaved the highway surface making the road more stable and safe for all users.

Truck Driver Dies in Crash on Interstate 5 at Belt Line Road Interchange (PHOTO UPDATE)

The victim was extricated by Eugene and transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield where he died from his injuries

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) - fatal crash involving commercial trucks on I-5 in Oregon near Springfield 6-14-09 Police say a commercial truck driver from North Carolina died this afternoon at a Springfield-area hospital after a major freeway crash that happened around 12:30 p.m.

Oregon State Police Lieutenant Mike Bloom, says the truck's driver, 66-year old George R. Kent of Bunn, North Carolina, failed to stop for slowing traffic and ran into the back of another commercial vehicle northbound on Interstate 5 at the Belt Line Road interchange.
