Historic Turner, Oregon has been flooded to the gills with recent rains.
Families there need assistance and their city administrator has issued a special plea for help to get this Oregon city back on track. The city will match the first $10,000 in cash donations.

Multi-Alarm Residential Fire in Stayton

Units are on the scene of a second-alarm fire in the 900 block of Birch St. in Stayton.
(STAYTON, Ore.) -
A residential fire in Stayton that left a residence substantially damaged, drew response from additional units with Marion County Fire, as well as both the Jefferson and Turner Fire Districts.
After arriving at the location, Jerry determined that in spite of significant damage, there were no injuries related to this particular incident.

Five-Alarm Blaze in Turner Sends One Firefighter to Hospital

Crews battle raging flames on an unusually hot Oregon day.
(TURNER, Ore.) -
A structure fire in Turner, Oregon, a town located just south of Salem, drew a five alarm response and reportedly spread to wildland before being brought under control today.
The building, a large house located on Meeko Lane SE in Turner, appeared to be a total loss.

Perscription Drug Turn In Results

In less than four hours, Marion County residents turned in approximately one half ton of pharmaceuticals
(KEIZER, Ore.) -
The Prescription Drug Turn-in event was held on Saturday at six sites throughout Marion County in Keizer, south Salem, northeast Salem, Silverton, Stayton and Turner.
Over 1,000 pounds of drugs from nearly 600 households were collected at the various sites. The Community Action Drug Prevention Network and the hosting law enforcement agencies wish to thank everyone who came out to properly dispose of their unused medications to keep them out of the environment and out of the wrong hands.

Fire at Turner Mill Draws Three Alarm Response

Little is known at this point, firefighters are still on scene.
(TURNER, Ore.) -
We don't have any details at this point, but a serious fire broke out at a mill in Turner, Oregon, in the 1900 block of 3rd Street SE.
Firefighters responded to the blaze from multiple agencies, battling flames and keeping an eye out for each other.

Crash on Turner Road Near Salem Prompts Warning from Police

Turner's Police Chief cites dangerous road as reason for too many crashes.
(TURNER, Ore.) -
The Turner Police Department and the Turner Rural Fire Protection District responded to another one car injury crash in Condon’s Corners which is in the 6100 block of Turner Road SE.
This area is in between the City of Salem the City of Turner. According to Chief Gary Will of the Turner Police Department, the Turner Police receive complaints about drivers in these corners constantly.

Turner Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

Investigators believe the driver may have experienced some type of medical problem which may have contributed to the motor vehicle crash.
(TURNER, Ore.) -
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies and Turner Fire District Officials responded to a single motor vehicle crash Saturday at 2:06 PM, in the 4900 Block of Hennies Road SE near Turner.
Upon arrival deputies and fire officials found that the driver, 68-year old John Wilson of Turner, the car's single occupant, had died as a result of the crash.

Turner Man Dies in Collision With Log Truck

Highway 223 was closed about one hour.
(MONMOUTH) -
One person died Wednesday afternoon when the car he was driving crossed the center line on Highway 223 about eight miles south of Monmouth and crashed with a fully loaded log truck.
Police say that around 3:00 PM Wednesday, a passenger car driven by 47-year old Kevin M. Carr of Turner was southbound on Highway 223 near Arlie Road when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the center line and crashed nearly head-on with a northbound log truck driven by 57-year old Joseph McFarland of Neotsu, Oregon.

Fire Damages Turner Storage Building

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
(TURNER) -
A two-alarm fire Wednesday morning destroyed a Turner storage building.
The Turner Fire District says just before 10:30 AM, firefighters were called to 1177 Enchanted Way.
Firefighters were able to quickly put the fire out, and they stayed on scene for several hours afterwards to remove combustible items.

Turner Man Critically Injured After SUV Hits Power Pole

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
(SALEM) -
Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7300 block of Battle Creek Road SE early Sunday morning on a report of a single car motor vehicle crash.
The driver, 28-year-old Sean Michael Richardson of Turner, was operating his 2002 Chevy SUV south bound on Battle Creek Road.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:18 AM when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve and went off the roadway colliding with a power pole.
