Keizer Man Arrested in Corvallis on Online Sex Charges

Police said Darren P. Reames made arrangements to meet who he thought was the juvenile female for sex on Wednesday morning.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - A Keizer man has been arrested and charged with online sex crime charges involving a minor child.

Corvallis police say 40-year-old Darren P. Reames was arrested for online Corruption of a Child after an investigation by City of Corvallis Police Detectives.

On May 29, Reames contacted who he thought was a female juvenile from Corvallis via an online social network. The person Reames thought was a female juvenile was actually an undercover City of Corvallis Police Detective.

Police say that after Reames initiated the conversation his communication immediately turned sexual. He made arrangements to meet who he thought was the juvenile female for sex on Wednesday morning. While he was waiting for the juvenile, Reames was contacted by law enforcement personnel and was taken into custody.

He is currently being held in the Linn-Benton County Jail. His bail has been set at $225,000.
