Amazing Home Birth With the Help of a 911 Dispatcher

At 9:04 this morning, a Salem-area couple delivered their baby, only it wasn't in the hospital, it was in their home.

The Noble Deeds of Israel`s Military

I can understand sometimes why so many are willing to give their lives in an effort to kill their enemies. Some you could say, are probably not going to find a more rewarding use for their lives.

(GAZA / SALEM) - Huda Ghalia As we publish reports about Israel's increasing likelihood of engaging neighboring countries in acts of war, it seems a good time to pause and reflect upon the treatment Israel reserves especially for the treasured people of Palestine.

Israel was established in the years following WWII, in what was then, Palestine. As the years passed, Israel's strength increased and so did the amount of Palestine they occupied.

Military Families at Risk - The Unrecognized Battlefront

Soldiers receive special extra pay to support their families, but the funds are misused when soldiers who receive the pay withhold the proper share from their families and keep the money for their own use. It is a common problem.

(NORTHFIELD, Ohio) - Military family Many sacrifices are made by members of our Armed Forces during times of war, of civil unrest, or of national distress, and whenever our great country has the need.

And the sacrifices made by these military service members are made equally by the spouses and children of our military families.

Sandbox Property Rights

Reexamining the famed Tonka Wars that affected so many American youth.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Tonka trucks Spring is here. The rain is less omnipresent. The sun has regained a bit of its brilliance, and the temperature occasionally flirts with something that could be called reasonably warm. Our story begins, on one of these glorious-by-contrast spring days, at the local playground.

Amongst the dozen odd young children swinging on swings, sliding on slides, and participating gleefully in other very literally named activities, Johnny and Timmy sat in a sandbox playing with a large yellow Tonka dump truck and crane.

Making the Correct Decision

My original assertion that we tend to bring our own patterns and experience to our parenting advice when, sometimes, it may not be the best advice

(AGOURA HILLS, Calif.) - Question marks One of the many things that we try to teach our children is how to make a good decision.

Sometimes the problem can be that we may not always make good decisions ourselves or we may allow emotions to influence our choices.

Akaka Proposal for Camp Lejeune Found Unacceptable by Veterans and Their Families

Shifting federal roles could impact the 'Caring for Camp Lejeune Veterans Act'.

(CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C.) - Marine Corps flag There are few people who know more about the Marine Corps' contamination problems at Camp Lejeune, N.C. than Jerry Ensminger. Jerry lost his daughter Janey to cancer, which he later learned was connected to the toxic water at the Marine base.

His concern now is an attempt to shift the heaviest responsibility and thus the control of providing Camp Lejeune victims their health care away from the Veterans Administration and place it on the Department of Defense.

We`re Giving Our Kids a Worse and Harder World

I guess I feel as if our kids aren’t allowed to be kids as long as we were. The omnipresence of technology in their lives 24/7 contributes to a loss of innocence.

(AGOURA HILLS, Calif.) - Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca The parents of every generation expect and hope that their children can and will do better than they did.

Ours may be the first generation, in a very long while, where it is both unlikely and unrealistic to have this expectation. The world has just gotten much more complicated, much harder, and more competitive.
