Close call for Calgarian in Mexican Shooting

Mazatlan’s State Attorney has appointed a special prosecutor to the case.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Las Jaibas Trailer Park at Mazatlan Calgarian Yves Guay, 52, who has traveled to Mexico by RV with his wife Sharon for the last six years was shot during a scuffle at their RV in the evening of March 4th, when two men tried to force their way in. They were staying at the Las Jaibas Trailer Park in Mazatlan.

He was shot in the upper right leg and the bullet just missed the main artery. He is expected to be released from the hospital over the weekend. He and his wife will fly back to Calgary, and a relative will drive the RV.

Radio Station Director Murdered in Mexico`s Jalisco State

The western hemisphere country where journalists are most in danger, Mexico was ranked 137th out of 175 countries in the 2009 Reporters Without Borders press freedom index.

(MEXICO CITY RFA) - Jose Galindo Robles The body of José Galindo Robles, the head of Radio Universidad de Guadalajara, was discovered at his home in Guadalajara, in the western state of Jalisco, on 24 November, after it was noticed that several days had gone by with no word from him. His body was found wrapped in a blanket and with the hands tied with cable.

The prosecutor’s office said the cause of death was a “deep contusion and fracture to the skull.”

Indeed, the teenage actor, grandson of Australian-born screen legend Errol Flynn, is more than recognizable to legions of young Nickelodeon viewers.

However history buffs, especially those cognizant with the Vietnam War, might associate the name with Errol's son, an enigmatic combat photographer who vanished in Cambodia in 1970 along with fellow journalist Dana Stone - presumably captured by communist guerillas.
