ALEC has boasted that about 17% of its bills are passed each year.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Aerial view photo of the Oregon State Capitol by Tim King Washington D.C.-based ALEC—the American Legislative Exchange Council, has just been charged in a Whistleblower complaint to the IRS by the nonpartisan advocacy group Common Cause.

ALEC is suspected of, “misuse of charity laws, massive under reporting of lobbying, and obtaining improper tax breaks for corporate funders at taxpayer expense.”

Salem Police detectives arrested Michael Montgomery at home in Salem.

(SALEM) - Michael Montgomery, 49 years of age, a teacher at Sprague High School During the evening of Friday, April 13th, an officer with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife spotted a vehicle parked in a prohibited area in Baskett Slough.

Officer Rachel York determined Michael Montgomery, 49 years of age, a teacher at Sprague High School, was in the vehicle along with a minor female who is a student.

Oregon Prison Employee Arrested After Shooting; Holding Police at Bay for Hours

The area was blocked off and neighbors were asked to vacate their homes until the suspect was taken into custody.

(TURNER, OR) - 39-year old Michael Wilson Yann 39-year old Turner resident Michael, an employee with the Oregon Dept of Corrections, was arrested early Sunday morning following a three and one half hour standoff with law enforcement officers.
