Progress Made on Two Bulls Wildfire; Evacuations, Road Closures Still in Place

The Two Bulls Fire has still not reached the City of Bend's Bridge Creek watershed nor is it jeopardizing the city's "Outback" drinking water facilities.

(BEND, Ore. ) - Good progress was made today on the east flank of the Two Bulls fire west of Bend.

Fire crews have most of that side complete with hose lines and lots of mop up continues with the advancement of the hose lays.

Outrage in Egypt After String of Sexual Assaults on Women

Authorities investigating other reports of sexual assaults were examining a dozen videos from security cameras. Warning: This Story Contains Graphic Video!

(CAIRO) - A string of sexual assaults on women during celebrations of Egypt's presidential inauguration — including a mass attack on a 19-year-old student who was stripped in Cairo's Tahrir Square — prompted outrage Monday as a video emerged purportedly showing the teenager, bloodied and naked, surrounded by dozens of men.

Seven men were arrested in connection with the assault and police were investigating 27 other complaints of sexual harassment against women during Sunday's rallies by tens of thousands of people celebrating Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi's inauguration.

Hundreds Forced From Their Homes, Thousands on Alert, as Bend Wildfire Grows

The fire is now 6,400 acres and remains uncontained with no estimate of containment at this time.

(BEND, Ore. ) - Firefighters again today will be tackling hot temperatures and strong winds as they battle and try and get the upper hand on the Two Bulls fire west of Bend.

Fire crews focused heavily on the eastern and southern portions of the fire on Sunday. A Oregon Department of Forestry spokesman says good progress was made and night shift crews will continue to secure that area Sunday night. Aerial water and retardant drops on Sunday helped fire crews dig preliminary containment lines.

On D-Day; Thousands Turn Out for New Oregon WWII Memoral

3,771 names line the stones walls of the memorial.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - On the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Europe, nearly 2,000 Oregon veterans and their families gathered at Willson Park in Salem for the dedication of the Oregon WWII Memorial.

According to the Historical Outreach Foundation, of the 152,000 Oregonians who served during WWII, an estimated 20,000 are still alive today and 3,772 are recorded as having paid the ultimate sacrifice during the war.

The two black granite walls bear the names of the more than 3,770 Oregonians who gave their lives while serving in combat.

Police Chase Ends With One of Salem`s Most Wanted Behind Bars

Two female passengers, age 30 and 24, were not lodged in jail.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police, with the assistance of Salem Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Office, arrested a 33-year old man Thursday night who was listed as one of SPD's most wanted following an attempt to elude.

At approximately 11:37 p.m. Thursday night, an OSP trooper witnessed traffic violations by the driver of a Chrysler 3000 displaying Oregon license plates and attempted to stop the vehicle southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 262.

The car ran into a fire hydrant, skimmed a tree, and flew up in the air, blowing out the tires as it hit the ground.

The chase ended in the 2000 block of Coral Ave just behind the Big Lots off Sunnyview Road NE.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Diamond Damien Gipson The man who held police and a SWAT team at bay for more than 5 hours this week, and then went on the run, has turned himself into authorities.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says they were called by police in Springfield, Oregon were 20-year-old, Sir Diamond Damien Gipson turned himself in.

Keizer Man Charged in Connection With Two Oregon Armored Truck Robberies

White is the same individual who allegedly committed the crime of robbery when he confronted a different armored truck courier in Eugene, Oregon.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Anthony White After a lengthy investigation involving several law enforcement agencies, the Keizer Police Department has arrested the suspect who allegedly robbed the armored truck courier when he attempted to service an ATM at the Schoolhouse Square business complex in Keizer back in March.

The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Anthony Samuel White of Keizer, was indicted Wednesday by a Marion County Grand Jury.
