President Used Marijuana but Mocks & Dismisses Legalization

A former marijuana user; Obama says there will be no quarter for the herb under his reign.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com So... Mr. Obama doesn't think that legalizing cannabis (marijuana) is a good idea and we aren't going to go there? Huh. I can't say as I'm shocked. I will say that I am disappointed.

As a former pot smoker himself, the President should realize that while his pot smoking didn't disqualify him as a candidate for the highest office in the land, a conviction surely would have.

Video Released in Confrontation Between Chinese Vessels and USNS Impeccable (VIDEO)

There don't appear to be hard feelings in the high sea antics between the U.S. and the Chinese.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Chinese vessel edges in closely to the U.S. Navy Ship Impeccable last March in the South China Sea. Five Chinese vessels shadowed and in the words of the U.S. Navy, "aggressively maneuver in dangerously close proximity to USNS Impeccable in an apparent coordinated effort to harass the U.S. ocean surveillance ship while it was conducting routine operations in international waters.

Chinese officials say the Impeccable was part of a calculated U.S. surveillance operation in the South China Sea.

Candle for Missing Son Burns After Four Years (VIDEO)

Ahren lived in Boise for 33 years, has many friends and associates and owns his own home. He has strong ties to the community and two very beautiful young children.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Ahren Barnard Ahren Barnard vanished from Boise, Idaho on Saturday, December 4th 2004. His mom, Vicki Barnard, says she is holding out hope that someone knows what became of her son who is also a father of two beautiful children.

Ahren vanished when he returned to his home after dropping off his young son at his mother's home for the evening. Ahren had plans that evening and was going to pick up his son the next morning to continue their weekend visitation, his mom explains.

Will a California Court Martyr Charles Lynch or Avoid Disaster?

Sentencing is set for Monday, and one law-abiding citizen may be imprisoned for decades.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com San Luis Obispo, California Sheriff Pat Hedges tried and tried to catch Medical Marijuana dispensary owner Charles Lynch doing something illegal, but he simply wasn't violating the law.

After exhausting his local resources, the sheriff brought in federal agents from the DEA and they finally got a security guard to sell some pot to them. Over that, Lynch now faces years in prison.

Numerous speakers took to the podium during this peace demonstration and rally.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem peace demonstration Hundreds of anti-war demonstrators gathered in Salem today to call for an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to condemn the Israeli attacks on Gaza. The event was also held to stand for the rights of immigrants.

The march was actually put together by 40 different organizations and KBOO Radio was there to help spread the word of peace through the airwaves.
