Oregon Racism: a Deeply Rooted Problem

(SALEM) - Former Oregon Corrections Officer William Coleman Fighting racism in Oregon as a reporter is a lonely job. The subject seems to hold little appeal for Oregon journalists by and large.

As reporters sleep on the job with these stories burning and begging for fair attention, we note that there are even fewer people battling racism from the ranks of law enforcement. Former Oregon prison guard William Coleman, is one of the few who has stayed the course, based on his moral code and federal law. He has been battling racial injustice on his own behalf and that of others, for nearly a decade.

Is This a Chem-Bomb Being Dropped Near San Diego?

(SAN DIEGO) - Suspected chem bomb over San Diego A video report shows what appears to be a “Chem bomb” dropped on San Diego San Diego on 17 January 2014. At one point, the white sphere explodes, emptying its contents over housing in San Diego.

The video reporter said, "What is this that exploded near San Diego? I filmed this while filming chem planes spraying very low and the object appeared after the second, higher, trail was laid."

2 Alarm Fire Destroys Garage

It took firefighters nearly two hours to control the blaze.

(SALEM) - Flames consume a Salem garage 1-17-14 At just after 8:00 P.M. this evening multiple 9-1-1 callers began reporting an unattached garage on fire at 4932 Sunnyview Road NE, Salem, Oregon.

Marion County Fire District No. 1 was dispatched by the Willamette Valley Communications Center (Salem 9-1-1) and arrived within only 2 minutes to find an approximately 1,500 sq. ft. garage heavy involved in smoke and fire, immediately threatening the unattached home, only 10 feet away.

Photos Reportedly Show Marines Burning Bodies in Iraq

(MOSCOW RT) - Marines in Iraq TMZ released 41 shocking new photos on Wednesday that they say show US Marines burning the bodies of dead Iraqi insurgents in Fallujah in 2004. TMZ did not reveal its source, and also said that some of the pictures were too gruesome to release.

"The actions depicted in these photos are not what we expect from our service members, nor do they represent the honorable and professional service of the more than 2.5 million Americans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan." a US Defense Department spokesman said in a statement.

(TEHRAN Press TV) - Syria's Bashal al Assad The remarks were made during a meeting between high-ranking Russian diplomats and US Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman in Moscow on Friday.

Sherman did not address reporters after her meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers Mikhail Bogdanov and Gennady Gatilov, but the Russian Foreign Ministry said the two diplomats told Sherman that foreign-backed militants are a threat to both Syria's future and regional stability.
